he will get 8+ because he is UFA next year, the team signing him is buying mostly UFA years contrary to Nick and Cole who were just out of their rookie contract and still years away from UFA. Duwood is also a big center, something a lot of team are looking for. I don't think he is getting 9M but I can see him getting something around 8.25M/yr for 8yrs.

For me, the big question is what is the package needed to make the trade, looks like LAK are in it also, they might offer Byfield if they can sign Dubois for 8yrs. (Byfield is 20yrs old, 2nd overall from 2020, center....and 6'5"). Habs can't compete with that offer.
