I was giving him the opportunity to prove me wrong because that's a cop-out answer

Let me not speak for him, then.

I think because he didn’t attend his sabres ceremony and they don’t think he’d attend the HOF ceremony? Idk. There are Russians, guys he played with, in the HOF

I can't really figure out what they're doing by not putting him in there, I really don't understand

apparently there is a maximum of 4 male hockey players elected each year

I probably would have chosen Mogilny over Vernon, but I really have no dog in the fight at all

Yeah I'm not going to lose sleep over it, I just don't get it. He's been eligible since 09 and while I don't think he was close to a 1st ballot guy...there's been some pretty weak names chosen over him since then. Guy Carbonneau comes to mind right off the bat.

Mogilny scored 76 goals in 77 games. Had over a ppg in almost 1000 games, won a cup (if you’re into that sort of thing in your HOF inductees). What else could he do

As long as Jagr continues to play in the professional Czech league, he is ineligible. I believe its a minimum of 3 years of official retirement until a player is eligible for the HOF.

“(One time) we’re in the locker room and Keenan is all over him. We were like holy poop – normally he’s not on Mogilny like that.

“Mogilny looks up, he’s like, ‘Mike, have you ever heard of how I defected, how they (frank)ing threatened my family, how they wanted to kill everybody? You think you’re (frank)ing scaring me?’

This alone is HOF worthy

well there isn't a player with more points than Turgeon (other than active players) who isn't in the hall of fame

https://www.hockey-refere...eaders/points_career.html

I get it, but Tkachuk had 10, top-5 all star finishes and Turgeon has six, top-8 ones. Plus, Tkachuk was one of the prototypical power forwards in the leagues. I like Turgeon a lot, just feel Tkachuk should be in.

The whole story of how he got out is amazing and he paved the way for others to defect

this is the current committee, maybe there is personal stuff there with Mogilny

but, there's a max of 4 players each year

He certainly belongs no question about it. HHOF is taking it personally that he wont take part in the ceremony.

Mogilny's and Fetisov's stories on getting out are nuts.

Fetisov and Kasatanov hating one another, not speaking to one another but being effective defense partners for years with the Devils was another astonishing one
