The issue with Deslauriers is not his salary. It's that he will be in the lineup and playing.

Which is good for next season as it ensures extra Ls.

After that, maybe a playoff team gets pushed around and wants extra 'grit' and ND agrees to go. Who knows. So many things to fix and can't do it all at once.

The (frank) kind of question is that...

Especially to an Austrian. They don't view WW2 as this glorious triumph like we (Americans) do.

According to SanFilippo the deal is dead, Krug refuses to waive his NTC to come to Philadelphia. He also mentioned that the Flyers would have to hang on to more of Hayes's salary now.

Not a good look for Danny & company these last few days. I know they can't control everything but these potential deals should not be leaked out like this before they actually happen. Both the St. Louis and Carolina deals are essentially dead, though the hope is Carolina will just wait a week and then do the deal. Only the Flyers can somehow violate an obscure CBA rule!

If the deal is dead and it’s only moving Hayes to get a low level prospect with 50% retained, Danny should just hold on to Kevin Hayes.

Bring the coach in line and have him do his job.

- StepfordSam

I am fine if Hayes stays or goes. But I do not see his value getting much higher in the next three seasons.

He is not a player that you want on a rebuilding team. If there is a trade to made for Hayes that does not involve the Flyers adding assets I say trade him.

I don't trade TK unless I am getting a top 10 pick in this draft. On Laughton the Flyers should trade him for 1st round pick in the 20s. That would be a good return for Laughton, plus I feel the Flyers owe him a chance to compete for a cup before its too late for him to.

There is no way Hayes can stay now, not with everything that has happened with potential trades and such. The Flyers are just going to have to eat half his salary over the next 3 years and be happy with a 3rd or 4th round pick in return. Same with Krug in St Louis, I hear he has already purged the Blues from his social media accounts.

It's odd that they were able to keep the Provorov deal almost completely under wraps when Jones was still broadcasting the Cup playoffs and this time the leaks were everywhere.

But what was an actual leak and what was fantasy land? Not all of the folks reporting on the possible trade are getting info from the Flyers directly.

Anyone can make up a trade scenario.

It is an observation about one variable that changed between the completed deal and the proposed deal.

How do you know it was the Flyers that leaked the deals. Seems to me St Louis leaked it to pressure Krug into waiving and the league stopped the Carolina deal after it was already consummated.

A lot of the information came from two sources that are more closely tied with the Flyers.

Agreed. Carolina deal probably had a lot of folks eyes on it with the league involved. This entire “leaking” is not Even worth mentioning.

This team has been a dumpster fire for 2 years. 3 HCs and core with a lot of losing. Almost every player who has been thru both years needs to be moved. If it takes 50% retention to get rid of Hayes, it needs to be done. The alternative was a buyout, which was worse. The discussion yesterday was how Krug's contract was bad and the ability to move the contract would not get better over time. Well, the same applies to.Hayes, no doubt.

Jonesy has already put out the word that he can't hire any more friends as he's run out of jobs to hand out.

Then again maybe Lappy will retire and a job will open up.

Are you willing to sign Konecny to a $8+ caphit at 28 years old for 7-8 years in two seasons?

If not, what does holding onto Konecny accomplish over the next two seasons and do you think his trade values increases from now to actually acquire a top ten pick?

Do you follow the Blues beat writers? I don't but I'm sure they were tweeting and putting out info as well. I've seen more comments from the national guys (LeBrun, Friedman) than I have local guys.

So Carolina holds no blame on this? Shocked boy wonder Tulsky wasn't aware of this scenario.

Not sure how you blame Danny for the leaks. Unless you have more than just your speculation.

Flyers have no intention of trading TK imo. They are probably asking for the moon knowing they wont get it.

Flyers do not owe any player anything,

You are just assuming this "leak" was on the flyers end. Wasn't it a blues reporter or reporter's who put it out there first?

To me it was business as usual with the info that was coming out. Nothing out of the ordinary when you really look at it.

Why would you assume it was Briere? My guess is that Armstrong leaked it trying to pressure Krug.

The Angelo deal just needs to wait a few days due to the silly rule.
