They will need to replace DeBrincat's scoring. I agree defense and goaltending should be top priority for Ottawa though.

Maybe they would take Sanheim. Hellebuyck would be great for them.

Nothing to do with the trade deadline. Players acquired after the deadline are not eligible for the playoffs. It was about hiding players from the waiver draft.

That's not it either. It was for the waiver draft. I believe in September. There is no contract deadline in the NHL for 6/30.

Good for Boston, they got out from under a bad contract with little effort, perhaps Briere should have apprenticed under Sweeny instead.

You don't know what he means. He is saying that the rumors are fake. Trades traditionally happen around the draft into July. So that nothing else has happened to this point, other than the Provorov deal. Is meaningless. The rumored deals are being reported by highly credible sources. Which means serious talks are taking place.
