Obviously would love if Laf were faster, but I don’t think skating is what’s holding him back. He gets his chances, just doesn’t convert enough. Not going to have 12 speedsters on offense.
Might not make much sense but when I watch Perreault I see a little bit of Zucc. Similar skating stride and has eyes in the back of his head like
Zucc. - TC88
I think someone posted it the other day but:
From 2021-2023:
Zib: 31 even strength goals in 163 games
Laf: 32 even strength goals in 160 games

Maybe that says more that the rangers overpaid Zib lol |

Or total goals. The point is that I THINK that the talent is there for Laf. He needs to work in order to be better and hopefully this coaching staff can help him be better. |

I just try to steer this away from becoming a source of Zib bashing
if people want to find ways to stay positive about Laf, thats fine with me

Over those 2 years Zib has 35 PP goals and 2 SH goals. Laf has 3 PP goals and 0 SH goals.
I agree with you. I think there is still hope for Laf despite the underwhelming numbers. We can see watching that he is not converting on chances that we think he should, yet he is still putting up pretty good numbers at 5v5 while not getting any real chance outside of even strength |

That was my intention as well. Zib is awesome. I don't think that if they replaced Zib with Laf on the PP that Laf would have 35 PP goals over the last 2 years. My point was more that Laf is putting up respectable numbers given his deployment |

Agreed. I lean on the fact that most of the team was non-existent in the devils series. He's never been asked to be the leader of this team and when the leadership fell flat he unfortunately followed.
When the team was playing well in 21-22 he was great in the playoffs |

Honestly I have no idea about anything with the draft this year. After the devils series i have completely detached from hockey |

I'm not bashing Zib, he's been better than Laf. There is no debate. |

It was a different kind of "down" but the 2017 Ottawa series was a tough one. If I remember correctly they led in the series for like 15 minutes total. Karlsson and Pageau killed us |

In that series you knew who was at fault. AV and his staff. This year was worse cause it was everybody.
Edit: Kredier and Shesterkin excluded. |
