Nah no way that’s you, you wouldn’t slander Kreider like that haha

its just a ridiculous notion too that Kreider just stands in front of the net and gets lucky goals

how did he get 4 shorthanded goals last year then

As far as Round 1 of the NHL Draft is concerned, hearing Kings had interest in 23rd overall pick, RW Gabriel Perreault selected by the Rangers.
But with no team looking to part with 1st round picks, LAK couldn't move into top 20 to grab him.

I mean in fairness Kreider has 295 total shorthanded minutes in his career. 255 of those were in the past 2 seasons where he scored the 7 goals. In '20-'21 he had 26 minutes. So in his first 8 years he played a total of 14 shorthanded minutes. Then 26 minutes the 9th year. It does make sense that he went from 0 to 7 when he started actually killing penalties regularly

Right. But by nature Shorthanded goals are lucky because they are so infrequent.

Well from a statistical standpoint goals in general are lucky, which is why people look at expected goals and other advanced stats. Kreider scored the majority of his SH goals on breakaways or 2 on 1s with Mika. There's definitely an element of luck there but his speed and ability to read the play puts him in a position to get those chances. Grabner was the same way when he was scoring a ton of SH goals for us. So yea he's a little lucky in the way that most people are when they score a goal, but he's a good, opportunistic penalty killer that was put in a position to succeed the past 2 years
