Im not saying having no discernable plan is bad.
Dubas had a plan. He followed it to implement his vision meticulously. We understood it and were either on board or not. Dubas final attempt in TO was obviously not successful.
Treliving is free balling this. Maybe his strategy is better. But I'm very curious to see what a team with a bunch of random guys thrown together will look like

I'm sorry there is simply no way JK is worth more Gudas... JK is not good in any way shape or form.. he will cost you way more points that he pots.

He will probably score 10-15 goals and 40-50pts.

4-4.5M on a 1-year deal is fine.

im a huge Gudas fan. The problem is you pay for points. Norris trophy rarely goes to a good dman. Points sell. Sadly

They do have a plan. It's a lousy one out of necessity. The Klingberg contract says it all. It's basically bide your time for the next two years until John Tavares' absolute albatross contract runs out, the cap goes up, and then you hope to add a couple pieces to Matthews, Marner, and Nylander. That's it.

Lots of great hockey regular season hockey by the "nice things" will be played, but there is not a chance in hell this is a legit Stanley Cup threat for the next two years. Enjoy!
