I follow the ducks a tiny bit because of you actually. I don’t dislike them but I think they’ve had a terrible week. First they pass on Fantilli and the signings today.

Next year they will look back on this week as the reason for firing Verbeek.

Honestly dont mind the Ducks moves. They needed some toughness and experience to go with all the rebuild and young players. They had a solid draft, and a good week so far. The real challenge is how they deal with Gibson.

From a team standpoint it isnt terrible. With cap projections it keeps them pretty value in a few years...or so they hope.

The Ducks were a disaster. Klingberg will be just fine in his role here on a good team.

1 year @ 4.15 is acceptable.

24-25 is the year this team will have to make big boy decisions.

Don't get ahead of yourself too much there. Remember that Klingberg was on a good team in Dallas and they couldn't wait to get rid of him.

He adds limited value and half of it is offense on the power play. His defensive play is horrendous and has been for a few years. Will a system with better defensive forwards help? Yes, I'm sure it will - but that Dallas team he was on was better defensively than we are and he was considered such a liability they had moved him to the bottom pair.

This feels like the Tyson Barrie experiment mark II and it was a terrible, terrible failure the first time around. As long as they can insulate him correctly with the right partner, it might be okay.

Obviously we have to play the games, but my initial take was that this money could have gone just about anywhere else and returned more overall value than Klingberg.
