Don't get ahead of yourself too much there. Remember that Klingberg was on a good team in Dallas and they couldn't wait to get rid of him.

He adds limited value and half of it is offense on the power play. His defensive play is horrendous and has been for a few years. Will a system with better defensive forwards help? Yes, I'm sure it will - but that Dallas team he was on was better defensively than we are and he was considered such a liability they had moved him to the bottom pair.

This feels like the Tyson Barrie experiment mark II and it was a terrible, terrible failure the first time around. As long as they can insulate him correctly with the right partner, it might be okay.

Obviously we have to play the games, but my initial take was that this money could have gone just about anywhere else and returned more overall value than Klingberg.

I agree the Leafs need to switch from Reilly on PP1, but not sure Klingberg is the answer for 4M. I guess we'll find out.
