Catching heat from this places finest such as yourself, Santo, AA, fifty_whines and that (frank)ing weirdo who gets poopfaced every night and thinks about me with his balls is nothing short of a badge of honour.

I shall wear it with pride.

Leafs needed scoring from the backend......and they had Gustafsson who keefe never used...who now signed for under a 1m in new york.

He may have been a cheaper and similar option to klinberg.

I didn't know reaves was 36 years old.
Too old imo for a 3 year deal.
Although he'll only play a few minutes a game

- Fakepartofme

Reaves contract is irrelevant...@ 1.3m his contract can be sent to the minors and have almost no affect on the cap

I know there's still time for a trade or something but who knew after they lost to Florida that only the GM wouldn't be back? Lol even Keefe is back!

So, is Keefe going to sit Klingberg like he did Gustaffson? Or, will he play him because he is a righty? Not a lot of difference there. Definitely not 3 million worth.

If the league has revenue sharing to create “parity”, shouldn’t cap hits be after tax dollars? Because it’s not really parity, is it?

No clue.

Klingberg got 7 million last year. It's 4 million this year. Minnesota, leafs and other teams wanted him last year. I think he'll be fine. If not, oh well, one year. Leafs won one round without him so what are you scared of here?

Wow that was epic levels of failure today from Shanahan.

His new puppet got demolished by his former puppet with the Acciari and Graves deals in Pittsburgh.

Imagine winning one round in nearly 20 years and then following that up with...

Reaves at 1.35 for 3 years but didn't keep Schenn.
Klingberg at 4+ but didn't get Graves and let Gustavsson go for 800K.
Kampf at 2+ but didn't keep Acciari.

Still got Murray on the books. Still got a blueline that sucks ass. Still got no real depth in the bottom six forward group. Still no extension for their star players at a reasonable cap hit. Still didn't clear salary to balance the roster.

Absolutely horrible day for the Leafs.

Except their d hasn't sucked ass for two years. Team defense has been pretty good. They even did fairly well in the playoffs, the team just couldn't score against Florida. They kept it pretty close defensively. But hey, why take your blinders off? Gotta preach the narrative until you get your way.

Not actually worried about Klingberg. Looked ok in Minny. But, I wanted Gustaffson to play, and Keefe held him out. Still irks me. And he is signed for under a million! So, yeah, I guess wasting money scares me.

Hoping for the best though.

The Leafs aren’t better and Matthews and Nylander signed.

Imagine if they both don’t

Ya sorry but you must have missed the playoffs where they gave up 3 goals a game average.

And now they just added two giant defensive liabilities who can't score more than they cost. Not to mention the losses of other defensively astute players along the way without equal or better replacements.

But please, tell us again how tight the blue goggles are on.

Ah okay so the small sample size of the playoffs is worth more than 82 games. Got it. If the stats were reversed you'd be pointing to the larger sample size to prove your point. You flip flop depending on what proves your point.

Keep your sexual assaulting goggles on. POS.

Klingberg is atrocious defensively.

He was-25 in Dallas and -25 in Anaheim. It doesn't matter if the team he plays for is good or not, he is a giant liability defensively.

If he plays with Rielly at 5 on 5, the Leafs will get blown out in their own end.

Gustafsson definitely should have played more and even if it cost them 1 million to keep him, he's a better bargain than Klingberg at 4+ million. Could have kept Schenn and Gustafsson for less money, had the same offensive contribution and a RHD who can actually play playoff hockey and defend.

Playoffs is where the games count the absolute most so forgive me for realizing that the Stanley Cup PLAYOFFS is what wins you a Stanley Cup.

Consider the regular season the theory and the playoffs the test. 32 teams put together 32 theories on what will win a Cup. But the playoffs is the test that puts the theory into practice to prove who is correct. The Leafs put together good theories but always fail the tests.

A regular season is only successful if the results are transferable to the playoffs. There's a long list of teams who could dominate in the regular season but flop in the playoffs and the Leafs are quickly becoming one of those teams, like San Jose, who just can't get the job done when it matters.

The more mistakes this management team makes, the less likely it is they are going to be able to get over the hump before the next rebuild is forced upon them.

Keep your straw-man arguments to yourself.

And the beat goes on. Except now they get worse. It all started with the stick boy signing JT. Ya I was dumb though when I said that meant Matthews had to go. Can’t have that much money wrapped up. 5 years later it’s objective truth.
