Sadly, Leafs still has the expensive JT bullet - THE EVIL WITHIN
couple bullets left in that gun. |

I thought the Leafs faithful were pretty happy with Schenn And RoR? Must be a bit of a bummer to lose em. Thems the breaks tho. - HonkyTonkMan
Good players going to Nashville. 4 years for RoR a bit much though. How about Gudas for $4M x 3 for to the Ducks. Has there been a worse signing this year? A non-playoff team signing a no talent plug for 3 years. My goodness.

To me they were deadline pickups and that’s all. Try again in February with some new faces. |

ROR at 4.5 is a good deal for one year, two tops. 4 years, yikes. Tree hasn't done jack, but he dodged that bullet. - Whipper I would have liked ROR back on the Leafs for that money. My thinking is the money may be going to someone like Bertuzzi instead. The though was putting ROR at center on line 2 and putting Tavares on the wing. You might be able to just leave Tavares at center and put Bertuzzi on the wing. You still get the toughness that you need, with skill. Bertuzzi is younger and has more physical jam. They better get this straightened out soon, or they'll be toast.

I guess Vertank thinks our PK will be good this yr.. .for all the time he will be spending in the box... for breaking McJesus's arm or Drai's... with a wicked 2 hander...

couple bullets left in that gun. - dmnted The only up side to this, in one year from now, when Marner comes up for a new deal, Tavares deal will end, when Marner's new deal kicks in. It's what the Leafs do this summer will determine if they're contenders or pretenders. As of 1PM on July 1st, pretenders.

Disagree and the oddsmakers disagree as well. Leafs are second choice as of right now, and rightfully so.

Tree living striking out big so far. Brown would have been a good fit. Bertuzzi would be good, hopefully he can make it happen. |

That contract is simple.
Take home in Toronto: roughly $2.1 million after taxation
In Nashville: $2.835
$735K difference x 4 years
A $2.94 million total
And people still don’t question why the majority of the highest paid players in the league are Canadians on Canadian teams for some reason. |

Reaves will challenge a whole bench, at least he’ll add a little pizzazz to the lineup. |

I didn't see Simmonds out there. Reaves is a (frank)ing Pilon. Agree to disagree. - fifty__missions
This is where we disagree.
FWIW, most people were saying that about Schenn too. He was great during his short time here. Wish we kept him...unless there's a bigger deal at play.
Like I said, I do agree with the "run it back" sentiment you've been posting...relentlessly. I'm just being a bit more patient to see the full picture.
If it were me, I start at JT and push him to waive his NTC and give Matthews the C and then signed RoR. That can't happen so Marner would be next on my list...only if Nylander signs a decent deal. If Nylander holds out for one second on a fair deal, launch his ass today and keep Marner.
I hate the imbalance of Cap $ being spent on this team's Core and the softness makes my balls shrivel. Barely want to watch the team any more. Maybe it gets fixed with Treeliving. But that hill isn't being fought on the Ryan Reaves deal.
I'm guessing there's more to come over the summer. |

That plus he becomes #1 C on Smashville, he would have been #3 or at best #2 with JT on LW. Doubt the Leafs would have offered 4 years regardless of the $
