Willy should sign for 8.5..getr done

I just dont see any trades now that make sense.
The leafs cant just offload a 40 goal scorer for futures. They cant score in the playoffs as it is.

they need something similar back. or someone who can be similar..quickly.

does Domi play that type of game?
he doesnt hit...much at all..Kerfoot hit more than him.

I think he's passion-based. Here are his career numbers:

In 20152016 with ARI he threw 1.89/60 in the season.
In 20162017 with ARI he threw 1.95/60 in the season.
In 20172018 with ARI he threw 2.69/60 in the season.
In 20182019 with MTL he threw 2.7/60 in the season.
In 20192020 with MTL he threw 1.75/60 in the season and 3.74 in the playoffs.
In 20202021 with CBJ he threw 1.22/60 in the season.
In 20212022 with CBJ he threw 1.34/60 in the season.
In 20212022 with CAR he threw 2.69/60 in the season and 3.33 in the playoffs.
In 20222023 with CHI he threw 0.98/60 in the season.
In 20222023 with DAL he threw 1.34/60 in the season and 2.23 in the playoffs.

Throwing about 3.3 hits/60 in the playoffs is basically Mackinnon or Teravainen levels of hitting. More than Kerfoot, but less than a physical grinder, obviously. His regular season hit rate - at its best - echoes that of Thompson, Boeser, Hintz, Robertson. So again, not overly physical, but enough that he's battling.

I am gambling that with something to play for in his market, I think you see closer to his Montreal/Carolina rates.

Lindholm is the only trade that makes any sense.

I do think they find a way to get Zadorov at 50% retained.

Treliving has managed to add 3 good players on 1 year deals without giving up draft or prospect capital.

Maybe they use Nick Robertson.

There are a bunch of types of "hits"

There is NAK hitting which honestly doesn't effect the game much..even though he is un the upper part of th elegy for hitting stats.

Domi is just a POS to play against. He is Bunting but more of a passer over a shooter.

I feel like Domi will score here with the line mates he will have.

Well Tkachuk is the "mean" player but he only had 60 hits last season. Tavares had 112.

I saw some stats yesterday, basically he is a decent passer/playmaker. might help some depth scoring.

basically this

JFresh
@JFreshHockey
Max Domi, signed by TOR, is an all-offence pure playmaker. He puts up primary assists at a very high rate with very strong passing metrics. His defensive impact is very poor, and despite some after-whistle pestiness he does not hit or forecheck much at all.

Iā€™m ok with these signings. I think both will have career years if they stay healthy. Bertuzzi will score over 30 at $5.5 thatā€™s good value compared to Willies demand of around $10mil Iā€™m sure. A little attitude added, I like that part. Now get Terrasanko signed for low on a 1yr deal and trade Willie, bring in Zadorov.

He can make plays which will help a lot.

Did he ever play with Jonny Toews? Could be a nice cheap add if he decides to play again.

Well a Zadorov or Schenn hit is worth 100 of NAK or ZAR hits.

why?

at least not the Domi/Bertuzzi signings, only 1 year...doesnt affect anything with Nylander.

imo, it tells me they are planning to keep him

He's a pest who's not afraid to drop the mitts, muck it up after the whistle, defend a teammate. Basically all the things we've been lacking in our top 6/9.
