If you get the 2022-2023 version of Matt Dumba to replace Brodie, I'm not convinced that's an upgrade.
- Scabeh

True, he had a lousy year. On the plus, Dumba is a RHD, hits more than Brodie, has a better shot and is 4 years younger. There could well be better RHD options out there.

I don't think it is, either.

But, maybe Dumba can do his best Luke Schenn impression and play his best with Rielly.

- GreatGigInTheSky

Fine, if that impression extends to Schenn’s cap hit of last year

Yeah. Everyone who’s ever been to MTL knows that place is a poop-hole and the people are bumholes.

Love Montreal. People are great, especially the women. One of my favorite cities in Canada.

That being said (frank) the Habtards and their fans.

yeah right, like the Wings are primed to win back-2-back cups in the next 3 years.

Not saying he or they will. Just saying be careful for what you wish for. He’ll probably flourish on Detroit and actually be good. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dumba makes those big open ice hits but he tends to get hurt doing it. That cannon shot gets blocked a lot and ends in a breakaway. He’s lucky he had Brodin carrying him.

I wonder if that quote will come back to haunt him.

"I was pretty lucky as a kid to grow up around that same sort of vibe in Toronto with my dad, but Montreal's a whole other level," Domi told TSN. "I get it, Toronto's got their fans and the Leaf Nation is pretty big, but there's nothing even close to Montreal and their fans down there. The fan base for the Montreal Canadiens is second to none."

- Scabeh

Being a players kids on Leafs, is much different than being a player on Habs. It’s apples to oranges until he puts the jersey on and hits the ice! Then he’ll know, and I’m willing to bet that when the Leafs faithful see Tie in the building and Max on the ice, the place will be electric. Max will forget all about the Habs. Book it.

So tree says Domi has wanted to play in Toronto for a long time

Heavy rumours he was willing to sign for cheap last year

Punting Kerfoot and adding Domi was always there, glad Tree finally did it

Yessir.

For whatever we’ve lost defensively, we’ve finally added some scoring depth.

And it’s not like we’re counting on Domi for tough shutdown minutes either. My guess is he’ll be centering a sheltered scoring line or may even play on the wing in our top 6, pushing Knies down to play with Kampf on the 3rd line.

Is this the first time a 2nd generation has played for the Leafs?

I’m thinking it must have happened before, but I can’t think of an example.

Edit: found an article that said it will be the 9th time in franchise history, but didn’t name the others.

Leafs haven’t had a prospect as good as Hutson since Matthews was drafted.

He is Larry Murphy 2.0 Remember when Leaf fans booed the poop out of him? Traded to Detroit and ended up winning back to back Stanley Cups??? Keep booing and trash talking your players. They always come to bite you in the a$$ 🤷🏻‍♂️
- Flyers18

You gotta admit…Holl ain’t no Larry Murphy.
