Potential trades. Same can be said for center so it's all speculation. I defer to what I think is best for Cates development and upside as a player. - MJL
maybe you can get your dad to pass on that message to the flyers coaches.

I don't even know Tuomaala and I am already proud of his effort to learn English. Quite impressive and I think it speaks to his commitment to get better. |

him wanting to learn English isn't all the impressive seeing where the league is based out of. he should learn the language
chicken was disappointing.

He would have had to pay is own way, that is probably part of it. - WhiskeyMan
And just got done playing in the World Championships and getting ready for Team USA Juniors camp...
But I think the biggest issue is the ham handed way Briere handled it when answering questions. He turned a big media nothing burger into a media feast. He was like Jesus feeding the whole media horde with one loaf of bread.

I’m kind of shocked by that…the Flyers really lack top-end talent with the exception of Michkov for me to see them as a top 3 system. - Sublime55
HP really really loves Michkov and our goalie prospects. MM probably was the sole reason for their +7 position change from last year.
On the other hand, pre-draft they really didn't love Cutter. |

collecting assets like this is another reason it was poor asset management to keep Seeler at the tdl, or asking too much for him. if you don't have the picks you'll never have a player. or as danny did, if you have additional picks you can always trade up. - Peter Richards
Just what kind of asset do you think Seeler would've gotten at the deadline? There is more value in keeping him. Which is why he is still here. |

4th rd pick. Please explain why he has more value staying here?
Can they not go out and get the same capable vet to replace him? You crack me up cliff. You want them to acquire assets yet hold onto dime a dozen bottom pair guys like seeler. Since this is a rebuilding team Wouldn't he be "blocking" a young guy?

Kaplan looks like a guy who’s in the right place at the right time. BU has some incoming talent. He was willing and able to play up and down the lineup. When his production dropped some, he took it as part of the growth process instead of caving to frustration. Flyers seem to recognize that power forwards take time. Kaplan could turn out to be worth the wait.

Yeah Seeler I think has progressed quite nicely with his time with the club. He was initially thrust into the lineup out of necessity via injuries but I think, paired with the right partner, can slot into that 4 slot as well as some PK duty. |

this article and the ranking makes me feel like we have something. The Flyers system has depth, could have some surprises and some top end talent now. They need 4 1st next season, find 2 2nd's. Use a 1st to move up and get 3 real good prospects. |

I saw a tweet thread a bit before the draft that tried to explain some of what was being reported as more of a difference in culture. In NA people are more about being nice and not always direct. VS in many euro countries being direct is the norm. They went in to explain that Michkov speaking back directly to vets is accepted over there and shows confidence vs over here would be considered disrespectful.
It said, think about why many Americans think Europeans are rude. Its a cultural difference. Many Europeans think Americans are fake/disingenuous.
Thought it was interesting as something not talked about a lot are all of these differences that might come into play. Based on what I’ve heard about Torts I think Michkov’s confidence will fit in. Torts has said he doesn’t mind if a player comes back at him and challenges him. |

Some of it may be sheer jealousy. Some of the same things were said of the late Alexei Cherpanov but no less than Jaromir Jagr said that Alexei was one of the sweetest kids he ever met.
I kind of suspect, but I don't know, that there was probably at least some exaggeration with Michkov. The more credible stuff from scouts relates to him only playing the defensive side of the puck when the mood struck him and that he was prone to frustration when faced with tight checking. Those things aren't unusual with offensive prodigies. - bmeltzer

Have a feeling you’re trolling but I also saw that they can’t attend camp if it causes them to miss classes. Players will take summer classes to progress in their degree knowing they won’t be there for 4 years |

When they drafted him I felt he was a good 3rd round pick. Strong big kid that got lots of good minutes for a good USA team. Said to have more upside than just a 4th line grinder. At this point I’m feeling like he will make the NHL. Just me feeling positive about his tools.

As in top 4? No, not even close. Seeler is a 6/7 NHL defenseman at best. |

He was fairly reliable in his duties last season. And was willing to stick up for teammates. I was presently surprised by him. I’m grade they didn’t deal him yet. But maybe this year or the next. |

yet you want tp keep him. He has turned himself into a solid bottom pair guy.
Just curious Cliff do the flyers get any credit for him turning around his career? |

It’s possible but they would need some of their players to perform well this year and then be willing to part ways at the trade deadline. That’s a lot of picks though. If they got that many then two pretty good players are being moved. |

incorrect. he is still here bc the gm at the time overvalued him and had a high asking price for what he is. |
