Okay! LOL. What I actually said it that if they would get a good offer, then by all means move him. Which I never thought would happen. The most likely offer for a 6/7 average tweener defenseman would be something like a 6th round pick, future considerations or a middling low level prospect. If so, then there is more value in keeping him around as he is the kind of player you want on your roster as a rebuilding team. The extra year on his deal at the time also limited the market. - MJL
not true as the market was set

"You'll never win Cups with guys like McDavid, Ovechkin, Kane or MacKinnon"
- John Tortorella - Feanor
Lol Torts was on TV last year saying McDavid would win a Cup if he'd only change his game lol. Like yeah... starting goalie Mike Smith, 1D Darnell Nurse, but you're gonna put the team's failures on the guy who is putting up 2 pts per game in the POs? He and Drai were dragging that turd burger into the WCF. |

McD, OV, Pat Kane, Kucherov, EK, Panarin, MacKinnon, Pasta, Malkin.... some guys you can just shrug off that they don't play defense because their other contributions are just so overwhelmingly strong. - Tomahawk
Isnt the best defense a good offense? |

It's extra funny because when he lucked into his one Cup he had the benefit of a little scoring machine who led the league with 94 points in the last dead puck season. |

Dude's going home to Czech or something. His NHL career is probably over. |

if the Flames are truly interested in TK, maybe there's a bigger deal to be had involving Sanheim. Would likely be a team he'd waive for. |

I think so. Some teams need forwards. The Habs like reclamation projects.

If TK or another vet is traded, I’d be interested as a buy low and sell at the deadline or keep investment. |

He didn't really say that did he? And if he did it must have been prior to 2010.

and farabee.
center will be fun to watch what happens as well. Coots signed for a long time. Cutter may take the 2c spot from frost. if cates is you shut down 3c, maybe they trade frost. - Peter Richards I think Cutter has a better chance of being a 2nd line center in the NHL than Frost. I just don't see Frost as a #2 center at the NHL level. Sorry folks!

John Tortorella: “Yeah and he complained about it a little bit, that he wasn’t getting the calls. Quite honestly, just shut up. Don’t talk about it.
“I do think he has to change his game a bit. Not turn into a checker, obviously. He’s talked about culture, he’s talked about standards, he’s talked about winning. You’re not just going to fill the net during the playoffs and outscore teams. You have to play on the other side of the puck. You have to have that business-type attitude of, ‘Nothing’s going to bother me, no matter how you’re going to check me.’
“Don’t talk about it, just play hard, play through it, but the other side of the puck is that important too come playoff time.” |

It would be weird if he knew about Connor McDavid before 2010. |

If Cutter can't score goals in bunches at the NHL level he's gonna end up as a bottom-six winger. |

That’s what did it for Steve Yzerman as a player. He put up a ton of points early in his career and Detroit had little success. He evolved and became a great 2-way player, eventually winning the Selke. His evolution was a big reason behind Detroits success starting in the 90’s.
It’s not all on McDavid but a small evolution to his game might make a world of difference. In a cap era with how much he costs, it’s not unreasonable to suggest he make small adjustments. |
