No I didn't! The Flyers had NO centers this past season. He was there by default. I don't see him as a 2nd line center on a competitive team. Guess I should have chosen my words more carefully.

That’s what did it for Steve Yzerman as a player. He put up a ton of points early in his career and Detroit had little success. He evolved and became a great 2-way player, eventually winning the Selke. His evolution was a big reason behind Detroits success starting in the 90’s.

It’s not all on McDavid but a small evolution to his game might make a world of difference. In a cap era with how much he costs, it’s not unreasonable to suggest he make small adjustments.

I think he's built more to be a #2 center in the NHL. Frost simply isn't physical enough to be a #2 center at the NHL level IMO. Did you happen to watch the playoffs? He'd be roadkill come playoff time.

I think he's built more to be a #2 center in the NHL. Frost simply isn't physical enough to be a #2 center at the NHL level IMO. Did you happen to watch the playoffs? He'd be roadkill come playoff time.

You're right. I mean Danny Briere simply couldn't play in the NHL, especially in the playoffs. Nor could Martin St. Louis or Saku Koivu. Just too darn small and finesse oriented.

He’s still a kid growing into his body. I remember at 18 I was 6’3 185lbs….I couldn’t add weight to save my life, the gym, whatever added a pound or two….that changed as I became a man…now I would have to lose a limb in a car accident to sniff 220. Give him time.

Now that free agency is a week in or so, teams are probably circling back. I think there’s a few guys on the block that are creating a log jam..ie Debrincat and Karlsson. Those two guys are big financial commitments…Both Konecny and Laughton are bargains compared to those two.

I don't really think it's fair to compare Frost to those guys. They were slick/smart players and tougher than Frost appears to be. Just my take. I think when this team improves in a few years (hopefully) he will not be the #2 center on this team. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I can only call em like I see em.

The Danny Briere example aside as being one of the best playoff performers we’ve seen in recent years but how much of Gauthier have you seen at center? Gauthier played wing at the World’s and World juniors if I remember properly.

What’s the deal with NTC of a player is dealt? I vaguely recall it is voided after the first trade, but can’t remember if that’s true or if it depends on the contract. Maybe I am dreaming it all up.
