Thought we were between seasons. I mean I'm all in for made up trades, lineup cards, Stan sucks, Stevie Y was born on Mt Olympus, the crime rate around the UC is no bueno, etc...but it's ok to have other interests. At least I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Nice list, Chief, but you're missing the brown nectar of the Gods. C'mon man.....

Back in the day ole Eli, under the watchful eye of big brother JJ, would have dropped you the old pink slip of death for a two day ban.

Actually this is not true.

"Signing Age is age on September 15 of calendar year in which first contract is signed, regardless of actual age when contract signed."

He could´ve signed already.

Bedard is still a minor and any contract he signs before his 18th birthday is null and void, unless he is an emancipated individual, which I doubt.

Blackhawks have said that they are still looking to add a vet goalie for depth. Alex Stalock hasn't found a new team yet. Should they bring him back and have a Stalock-Soderblom-Commesso competition for #2?

That would force someone down to Indy if everyone was healthy, but would help if there were injuries. Guess that may be why they didn't sign Basse this year, not enough spots.

Has any Hawk that was not resigned by KD (Stalock, C. Jones Khaira) been signed? Haven't seen one.

Last time I checked this was a hockey site, would rather discuss options for Hossa, Seabrook, and Toews to help with the rebuild, than crime in the big city because big city government refuses to do anything about all the crime.

I always go downtown, near north side areas as well, even comiskey park area is not so bad now. I like going to the city it's a really good time. Hoping they open another place east of the stadium so i can eat and drink there before the game and take the shuttle bus to and from the game. Park for free by the bar/ restaurant

A prospect has to be 18 to sign an ELC. Bedard turns 18 on Monday so I would expect the signing announced soon. 950K per year and probably maxing out on the "A" and "B" bonuses which would be another 3.5M per year.
- boilermaker100

I think they mentioned they were going to negotiate with Kurashev around the 20th and expect that's when Bedard signs with the big club.

True, I have other interests also, but as I read this blogs code of conduct, posts are supposed to be related to hockey, of which my post about the neighborhood around the UC violated.
- LAHawk

damn, who pissed in your corn flakes this morning?

Its a community in here with people who have been around for years, LA. You included. FFS, bring up your other interests. (frank) the code of conduct. We don't have a ref in here nor do we need one.

I’m a little confused(there’s a shocker), so you all want to move away from the greatest era of Blackhawks hockey and not have this guy around as a consultant around Bedard and the rest of the youngsters, interesting. I’m in for this rebuild, but if anyone here around my age thinks that the future Hawks can accomplish what happened last decade before we leave this earth I have a bridge to sell you, because I have news for you, it ain’t happening, that was a once in a lifetime run. KD would be nuts not to bring this guy in to mentor the new core if Toews does decide to retire. Go ahead and fire away, I can take it. By the way, same goes for Seabrook and Hossa.

Jonathan Toews captained Chicago to three Cup wins. Toews won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010, 2013 and 2015. He earned a gold medal with Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Olympics. In 2010, at age 22, he became the second-youngest player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.

The Athletic’s Katie Strang reports that Galchenyuk “was arrested on July 9 on a number of charges including private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest, Threatening or Intimidating.”

What a surprise. Looks like the Yotes are terminating his contract, IMHO he’s done in the NHL.

Did u watch the video they put up about the draft and development camp? Looks like a fun bunch of kids. Apparently Moore and Bedard hit if off and talked about their training regimens. The looked like they were having fun with the camp.

Bedard is the kid u have to drag off the ice it seems.

I did see that video. They all seemed to have a blast cooking, boxing and playing ball hockey with the kids. I have no idea where all this crap about what Bedard allegedly said, comes from. There’s good and bad with all cities and Chicago has far more good than bad.

Sour grapes from other fan bases is my guess. If he didn't want to be here he wouldn't have been at the camp and start forming bonds with the other prospect.

Excerpt from Powers' Athletic story this morning regarding CB:

The other thing that stood out is that he’s a rink rat. He was itching to get on the ice all of last week. There’s no doubt he’s going to be ready for the season.

“Yeah, it’s been a pretty long time (not being on the ice), maybe the longest in my life,” he said. “No, but it was a good week and they had good reasons for it, of course. I really enjoyed the week.”
