Hopefully this kid, Nick Lardis, can find his way onto the Hawk roster one day. He’s got serious speed and a pretty decent shot.

He needs to fill out for sure but in the vids i watched he plays fast. The puck isn't on his stick for long whether shooting of passing. |

Although his skating is supposed to be off the charts, this clip shows Roman Kanserov’s shooting ability. Like Lardis hopefully Kantserov can climb through the ranks and make the NHL.

Wanna know what I liked? of course you do. lol. Every goal was him attacking the net or from between the dots. Except the Messier special shooting off the wrong foot on his off wing. |

Bedard had better be prepared to play tough. We saw what happened to the Leafs stars against Florida. Marner, Matthews and to a lesser degree, Nylander, had no real interest in competing in the tough areas on the ice. - paulr
From the times I have watched he definitely has some fiesty in him. |

Seriously. I am not a spell check guy but FFS, the guy not only the highest scoring Black Hawk of all time but is also one of the greatest to ever play in the league, can we please spell his (frank)ing name correctly?

He was as tough as 2 dollar steak as my Dad would say. He was fighter when he cam into the league until his daughter Meg asked why he always had to sit away from his friends.
Also. What a humble, classy, gentleman. Meeting him and sharing a couple drinks with him was something I will never forget. The guy thanked me for remembering him as a player. lol |

I saw Lardis later in the year and thought he was one of the best skaters I’d seen all season. Not only straight line speed but acceleration, great edges and strong on his skates. As you say if he can find JJ to see how to go about putting on 20 lbs of muscle he’d be well on his way. |

My Dad, a Leaf fan, called him a dirty little bastard!
When I was 7 or 8 my friends Dad told me to come to his house at a certain time one day. I went over at the designated time at a few minutes later out the front door walks Stan Mikita. My friends Dad said Paul come over as say hi to Mr. Mikita. I stood their jaw on the ground and couldn’t move. Stan Mikita had to walk over to shake MY hand. My friend’s Dad was linesman John D’Amico.
I went home and told my Dad I met Stan Mikita and he was the biggest guy I’d ever seen. My Dad said that dirty bastard isn’t as big as me. |

According to Hawks Insider, there are rumors surrounding Murphy. I take it with a grain of salt as I don't think those guys are ever right. |

With all the young defensemen development at plus one after this season, Murphy is a logical minus one dman…. But exactly just when will he be grazing elsewhere? |

Eh, I wouldn't really say there are rumors. More like they think he would be a trade piece? Outside of fans on this board and others, I've not heard any local or national media say a peep about Murphy. Not to mention, I think most here would call their description here "questionable".
Connor Murphy: With the Chicago Blackhawks entering a rebuilding phase, there has been persistent speculation surrounding the future of defenseman Connor Murphy. Known for his reliability in shutting down opponents and thriving in top-four minutes, Murphy presents an enticing opportunity for teams in search of defensive stability. Exploring a trade involving Murphy could be a viable option for the Blackhawks to strengthen their draft picks or acquire promising prospects.
Tyler Johnson: After a disappointing performance in the 2021-22 season, Tyler Johnson experienced a remarkable comeback this past year. The 32-year-old forward demonstrated his skills by scoring 12 goals and accumulating 32 points in 56 games, significantly increasing his trade value. Considering the Blackhawks' current phase of rebuilding, they might seize the opportunity to leverage Johnson's enhanced market worth and pursue a trade as they continue to shape their future roster. |

What they used to say (maybe someone still does) on THE SCORE: Who you crappin.’ Oh it was Ditka and a couple talking heads that liked to adopt the verbiage/adjective.
No one is lining up for Murphy because he sort of sucks. And Johnson age, though more his salary + injury history makes him a red flag although a skill player worth adding if Chicago retained some salary.
If a team desired a veteran dman the scuttlebutt mentioned on this blog was that his salary/contract makes him an attractive pick up - again however if really need to add a third pair guy (who can play both sides but not too well). |

Who centered for Darcy. - bjphawkfan
Ivan and Darcy. #12 and #18. Broke my heart as a kid when they were traded.
Ivan had a decent career. 15yrs/1052ga/361g/505a/866pts
Darcy's was cut short due to knee injuries I believe but still, 11yrs/794ga/256g/239 a/495pts. I think he went on the work for the NHL proper for a time.
