His wife is a well known fashion model and is very active in the fashion community. When he was traded to the Rangers, he commented on how happy his wife was to be in NY. I suspect at this stage of his career she would prefer they stay. But it’s still a tough sell unless Drury makes a move.

If theres one thing I know, its Russian women. She's definitely in his ear right now telling him she doesnt want to leave.

He was living in Greenwich, CT, which is where my sister also lives, and she saw them around town a lot. Looked like he really enjoyed being there

Suppose Tarasenko fired his agent because he wants sign with the Rangers. The agent told him I can get you much money over here and I want you sign there. Tarasenko says NYET, idc about the money and you’re fired!! Now is just waiting to see if the Rangers can get a little more money to give him, but will ultimately settle for 1.4ish for one year.

I used 1.4 because that’s about the most he could get while keeping Goodrow w/ laf getting 2.5 and Miller gets 3.75…with a 22 man roster

It really comes down to Tarasenkos greed or happiness, if wants more money he’ll go elsewhere, if he wants to be happy he play here for less he’ll be our 2RW. It’s certainly not out of the question, not as unlikely as it seems. He could be just waiting for Miller and Laf money to come in so he can get whatever is left over under the cap

Doesn’t it feel like something is afoot if he hasn’t signed yet? 🤔

The #RedWings today acquired forward Alex DeBrincat from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional 1st round pick and a 4th round pick in 2024.

So hardly gave anything up for him.

Personally, I’d love him to stay. I was really impressed with his game, much more well rounded than I thought, and a bit of grit also.

If Drury could ship Goodrow to ott that would be amazing

I think he’s Ranger. It ended badly and I get it, but he genuinely looked happy here, and playing with Panarin.
- Slimtj100

If Drury thought he could get him cheap he would have made a move by now. It’s not happening. I would love it but it’s over. They just don’t have any money

The only saving grace would be both LAF and Miller taking 1yr team friendly deals to allow Tarasenko to sign for 1 year. We could maybe scrape together maybe 2m to throw at Vlad.

That would be all about money and not about winning or his wife's happiness.

From the team standpoint, bringing him back should have been more of a priority. They are still thin on right wing, which is exactly where they were last year at this time.

But like you’re just assuming this based on your belief that you can read all Russian women’s minds

Doesn’t hurt their case when they can suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch. Those Russian women have “talents” if you know what I mean

I am Russian, but all that aside.

This woman has been in St. Louis his entire career. The last thing she wants is to be in a place like Ottawa where theres nothing. LA, Miami, NYC, and even NJ... thats where she wants to be, also no coincidence those places have big Russian neighborhoods, more so Miami and NYC. Vlad probably has 5ish years left in him and he wants to enjoy it. He got his cup. He gets to play hockey on the same team as his best friend, his wife is happy af being in NYC. I think Vlad is looking for his retirement contract, this could be where we might be seeing an impasse.

Who would’ve thought Bertuzzi would get/take a one yr deal. These long term deals aren’t really out there unless you’re an RFA. The RFAs get the term. I think Vlady would take 1 yr from the Rangers, and then next year get his last 3-4-5 yr deal. Money just isn’t there for teams to offer.

I’m sticking to my guns, Vlady is a Ranger for under 2 million bucks. Maybe the isles throw more money and he signs there because it’s still NY (for his wife).
