We don’t have another bonafide top 4 d. But we have 5 guys that can play bottom pair some what ok.

We added 4 ahl goalies.

Are you not impressed?

Maybe my offer isn't enough, but, I think it;s close and I do think Briere wants to trade Hart.

As for Hart, he's a RFA after next year, so you probably bridge him for 3 years and push your goaltending decision down the road. 4 years of Hart/Levi sounds very good to me

- turbo044

Hart is coming off his bridge. His next deal will take him to UFA, so a bridge is not an option.

His contract status is why he might get moved. Going to be expensive and you aren't really sure on him as #1. Above average last year, but below the previous 2. Same type of hesitancy we just went through will Ullmark.

Hart isn't worth much more than UPL in imo. Him and Olo for hart is most I would pay
- Fattony1187

If you don't Hart is a ton better/worth more than UPL, I'm not sure what to say.

HART (all with Philly)

2018/19 2.83/.917
2019/20 2.42 /.914
2020/21 3.67/.877 (injured and only played 27 games)
2021/22 3.19/.905
2022/23 2.94/.907

UPL
2019/20 Rochester 3.15/.874 (only 10 games)
2020/21 Rochester 3.66/.888 (14 games)
2021/22 Rochester 3.28/.900 (35 games)
2022/23 BUF 3.61/.892 (33 games)

There are plenty of trades out there if KA chooses. Depends on his appetite to trade picks/prospects. I still think there may be a Hart trade (maybe including Konecny) in the works, pending his name is cleared in the Team Canada scandal.

Hart is signed for $4m this year, and RFA next year - he'd be a GREAT tandem going forward with Levi
Konecny is 5.5m for 2 more years, can play both wings and would be a great 2nd line guy for 2 years before the prospects take over.

Price would be steap, but I think worth it:

Hart & Konecny for
UPL, Joker, Rosen, Oloffson 2023 1st

That's $9.5m in, $8m out. PHI wants to tank and they can flip Joker (they'll be value for him) and Oloffson (The probably can get a 2nd or 3rd if they retain salary).

- turbo044

Yes they can flip them, when at this point we can't. So they will have a better shot at trading disposables then we have. Yeah I could see wanting to go through that with players you don't have to move.

He's a RFA so he's still under team control. 3 years $18m seems to work. one bad year (when he was playing inured), other than that, well above average given the lack of defense PHI played in front of him. His sample size is a ton bigger than UPL's.

hart stinks

1 year of matt murray is an upgrade over moving assets for that

And that hip injury should be a major concern. How many goalies have had similar issues and never recovered. They need another nhl quality goalie.

Lindholm is the same player as Toffoli?

That seems like news, if it is true.

So now you're a UPL lover cuz your favorite Sabres GM of all time drafted him? I get it 100% if people don't want Hart but it's idiotic for anyone having any faith whatsoever in UPL. He's been a well below average at every level he's played at.

You people Bltch about our goaltenders, I propose a well above goalie who's clearly available (Briere said so himself), and you bltch about that. Yo ujust love bltching.

Clown - you're so brilliant, instead of bltchingm what do you propose the Sabres do in the rest of the summer at Goalie, Defense and Forward? btw, firing KA and hiring back your butt buddie previous GM isn't an option

I never claim to be a 6k lover, you guys are great at making excuses so I throw one at you, and it gets you off your game

you want to blow the wad for a crappy goalie

aim higher than the 66th best goalie over the last 3 years stat wise

we didn't suffer for all these years for carter hart to be the savior

I'm not trying to compare him to UPL.

His GSAA was +4.4 last year, -3 the previous. -11.6 for his career. No clue which way it goes this year.

You know how limited team control is 1 year before UFA. He can just file for arb or force a trade. A reasonable short term extension in Buffalo doesn't seem all that likely to me.

Think we know they've wanted to make bigger moves, but all KA can manage are 4th liners, 3rd pairs, and backup G's. If it wasn't concerning last summer, it is now.
- Lunaion

Based on the second part of your first sentence, then I would say that Adams and company didn't want to make big moves bad enough.

If he continues to draft the way he’s been drafting, all he will need to do is excel at finding bottom of the lineup players.

You really think they could swindle them with 4 disposable pieces?

Let's assume the cost hurts. What are you doing with a Hart extension?

- Lunaion

Is Rosen a disposable piece?

Overall, Turbo has a time machine based on his mythical offer including a 2023 1st πŸ˜‚

I wonder if other team GM's are tired of talking with Kevyn, because he always calls, but very little ever results from those calls.

I'd say so. There's a reason he gets tossed into every made up trade offer....and then Benson bumped him down even further. It's tough to see how he fits here.

He jet-ski's on a lake when NHL GM's jet-ski in oceans - should've been a dead give-away.
