Well if the Bruins drafted literally anyone else in 2015 other than Debrusk, Zboril, Sensheyen they would have won the last 4 cups. - Swedish_Jesus
If Adams drafted differently would thre Sabres of made the playoffs?
Why do you respond to a question with an “if” question about something else? |

You'll be the biggest bandwagon guy on here.
The team has all of the important positions already filled.
Top 3 defenseman will play 75 -80 minutes
You got a top nhl line
Center depth.
A goalie phenom prospect.
You guys are miserable rubes - Boss34
I hope so.

He’s done really well in 3 areas (so far)
Trading off Eichel/Reinhart and Risto
Drafting (so far)
Making gambles on Thompson/Cozens/Sammy
He’s done pretty awful at
Adding NHL talent to the roster via trade
UFA signings
Weaponizing cap space
Insulation of the goalie position
Overall it’s an average tenure so far. There’s food and bad - sbroads24
Agree with everything outside of UFA signings.
For every long term UFA signing that pans out, I can show you 10 that didn’t.
UFA should always be used to shore up depth, with the meat and potatoes coming though the draft and through trades.
I think he did fine getting Clifton, Johnson and re-upping Jost. He didn’t hand out any contracts the last two offseasons that harm us in any way |

I believe the victim was 20ish at the time. There are all kinds of rumours about who was there, but Formenton has been linked to being the one she hooked up with and went back to his room. Again, rumours from the hockey community. But he has never released a statement about the situation at all. - Fogolin
And hes not even in the NHL system.
Suspect if you ask me |

Horvat over Risto would have been nice.
Anyone over Alex Nylander would have been nice.
There are busts inside the top 15 picks as well, it’s not as easy as you make it out to be.
Hitting on those picks are paramount though |

Not entirely true. The Okposo contract harmed me pretty severely. |

Not to mention all the head shops that have popped up in the last year that are conveniently open way past everything around them. How many bongs and grinders do people need? Plus you can order all that poop on Amazon anyway. 50 pack of RAW cones for $15. I mean unless of course they're selling other merchandise. Nah. No one breaks the law. |

Me either
I desperately need a new hat. I still have the old navy one, and it's seen better days. But I'm not spending money, even tangentially, on them until they prove they care. |

Where have I made it out to be easy?
I asked a question that triggered you to begin redrafting for Boston back in 2015, no clue how you ended up there.
As for busts inside the top 15, what is the percentage of Sabres picks that are still in the NHL (damn near all of them).
Back to my original question, outside of the top 15, other than Peterka, who has Adams drafted that has made an impact on the Sabres?
To tickle your if fantasy, if the Sabres are about to be as good as you presume, how confident are you with Adams drafting later and less? |

I dont want to make excuses for them, but I cant call it late in the off season. 26 teams have been largely asleep. 90% of the trade board hasnt moved.
Id bet anything Jokiharju has legit trade value though, he won't be a give away. Thats Lyubushkin - Michael Ghofrani
Legit lol.
Like Debrincant is 1 of practically 10 guys who have been speculated to be dealt since July 1st that have been dealt.

Regardless of on ice results? - washedup20
If I had to guess Adams maybe has 3 seasons left as GM, unless things go completely sideways.
"His team" turns into a steady playoff team and he transitions to the Presidents role and hires a GM to finish what he started.
This is completely a guess but this is something I can see happening.

That didn’t answer my question- Adams traded away an elite 1C to get Tuch a hockey trade where Adams gets the worse end isn’t a home run trade. - washedup20
Too soon to say who won the trade.
You're smart enough to realize eichel had to be traded.
Glad we got a super likable top line player in return. That's a partial win alone.
It's crazy the day in and day out misery you post.
Aren't you a Sabres fan still? |

Thought about this a bit and while I dont question his commitment to his job, I think he's also got his next one in mind as well.
He wasn't anywhere close to the line for "next wave of GMs". So really his whole tenure here is one long audition to get him into that inner circle.
A huge chunk of first time GMs end up being one and done because theyre remembered for something they did (presumably wrong).
Anything from a big trade going sideways, a signing that never lived up to the hype, or in one special case, comparing a top six forward to a lizard and how far they stick their tongue out.
And these are first timers who were in line for a GM job. - Michael Ghofrani
I think you're on to something with the afraid to make a mistake idea.

I see Kim remaining team President as long as she is alive
perhaps a different title for Adams
Then again most of you thought Ralph was going to be the team GM by now

they are lucky there are fans like us in sabre chat rooms after the crap they put on the ice for the past decade plus
it's going to be a tough task to get the 22-28 year olds to get anywhere near as excited as many of us were as they have experienced a decade plus of the worst hockey in nhl history at their home arena |

Won’t be able to evaluate that for a few more years. Besides, if we are a legitimate cup contender, then moving mid round picks shouldn’t be an issue considering we already have way too many prospects as is.
To answer your question though:
Poltapov has done good things in the KHL and looks like a sure fire NHL’er when they can get him over in a couple years. Looks like he’s more of a bottom 6 option at the moment but nonetheless
Kulich just shredded the AHL, I like his odds of being a middle 6 NHL forward with the upside to be a legitimate top 6 forward.
The fact that Kisakov, Neuchev, Kozak, Novikov, and Nadeau will be in Rochester next year will make them must see TV.
Goalies are voodoo so we’ll see what happens with Leionan
Too soon to tell with Whalberg, Strbak, e.t.c |

From what ive read, ownership is pretty much done with the idea of a president (or like president) role. |
