Um okay and white is the opposite of black, you’re just being contrarian now.

If the pay is good - there are other factors, especially for a man with a family. Real estate, schooling, cost of living…

People make $1 million in New York and still struggle with the relative cost of living. Commute times are awful, air quality is awful and the entire city smells like garbage and piss.

I would take that job and move to a city with direct flights to New York all day and just commute that way before I would take that salary and actually live there and drive for a commute.

But I mean, you seem to really like the idea of NYC. I am happy for you.

I actually hated new york lol

I get that there are lots of things about NY that make it undesirable. But its entirely possible that at whatever pay Peca got, he liked the idea of being in NY better. I really couldnt say. It has its charms, from what I hear.

I really don’t think he liked the idea in all honesty, but he wanted an NHL gig and the Rangers wanted to change up their staff.

He would rather be in a place like Buffalo or Columbus, imo.

Sometimes it is literally just about padding that résumé and getting a promotion.

One of my supervisors at work took between a $10,000-$15,000 pay cut for the position - with his hourly wage and the overtime he was working, he was financially better but his ambition got the best of him.

He is absolutely miserable now, too.

Yeah it wouldn’t surprise me if he just simply got a role he couldn’t get here. I really don’t know what happened there. He’s also close with laviolette, right?

I think he played for him when he was on the Islanders but that was for one season so I’m not sure

How is that different from literally any big city? You get many millions of people together and sh¡t is going to stink and it's going to take ages to get anywhere.

I would pick Chicago, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Boston literally every other big city except LA over NYC
- Jet Jaguar BD

NYC is relatively safe+ great food
Pittsburgh nice “small” big town
Columbus - never been
Boston - best big city in the world other than Paris
Chicago - used to love but crime there right now is beyond ridiculous. Baltimore is the same way.

Terry Blacks bbq is worth the visit, Austin is worth a 48 hr visit.

Casino el Camino on 6th st. The burgers are outstanding and ask for Frap and his famous Bloody Mary….don’t go higher than 7 on his spice scale.

I love going to the US Open in Queens and enjoyed seeing the Mets (we stay in Corona when we go). But I visited a buddy in Brooklyn a few times and thought the subway system and general vibe of NYC was a nightmare compared to my experience of living on the westside/Elmwood village in Buffalo during my 20s.

To each their own but NYC is just not for me. It's pure chaos in my experience

The owner of Casino is from Buffalo. The wings are also a great choice but you will need to get a burger. It’s a really great dive bar with great food.
