I love going to the US Open in Queens and enjoyed seeing the Mets (we stay in Corona when we go). But I visited a buddy in Brooklyn a few times and thought the subway system and general vibe of NYC was a nightmare compared to my experience of living on the westside/Elmwood village in Buffalo during my 20s.

To each their own but NYC is just not for me. It's pure chaos in my experience

How is that different from literally any big city? You get many millions of people together and sh¡t is going to stink and it's going to take ages to get anywhere.

There are like 10 cities in the world like NYC

Tokyo, NYC, Mexico City, Dubai, Sao Paulo, like 6 Chinese cities

So, no.

I gotta say, Bandit, love you as an all-time great member here but you are so bitter, I wonder if you need a break from Buffalo sports altogether for about 6 months to refresh.

I can feel your butt hurt across the universe

I'm not trashing New York, I'm just saying that every big and not so big American city I've been to smelled like piss, sh¡t, and garbage in most places. Honestly Tampa might be the least smelly big city I've been to. Though I've never been there during red tide which just sounds terrible.

At least the handful of European cities I've been to had their sh¡t together.

Just the Sabres piss me off. I'm happy with the Bills. But hockey's always been my favorite sport and I'm sick and tired of fĂĽcking waiting to be good. They started the tank 10 goddamn years ago FFS

Florida has to be one of the most "other side of the tracks" places I've ever been to, like every city. Abject poverty, then a block later you have Lambos. It's crazy.

European people are clean.

My ex was from Turkey. No trash anywhere, toilets so clean you can eat off them, honestly it made me embarrassed to be American, Airports clean asf, Germany all of it. Even Toronto, clean compared to Buffalo.

Americans are scumbags.

Vast majority of European cities I've been to. A few in Czechia as well. Even the Red Light districts and areas around clubs and food trucks were goddamn spotless and none of it stank. It was astonishing.

As I said not a fan of NYC but it’s brutally unfair to judge the city by visits to queens. Brooklyn can be really cool though depending on what part.

Depends where in Fla. where my place is I absolutely love, though I’m like the youngest one in the community. East coast Fla = NYCers = snobcity, gulf coast = mid westerners, Canadians a lot of buffalonians = real people. Generally, the farther you move away from the ocean the tougher the population is

Honest question, anyone here care how hard he tries? Not from what ive seen lol.

My point was that they didn't try that hard to make some of the moves they needed to make, because they weren't really that interested in doing too much.

I really don't think thats true though. Its also easier for me to say that since it is still July.

Im sure ill have a different tone in September if luukkonen is still the projected goalie

GMKA (September 2023): “We tried really hard to bring in that veteran presence in goal. We had ongoing conversations all summer with a few teams. In the end, we felt confident in our group and the pieces to make a move just didn’t fall into place. It didn’t make sense but we believe in our room and we have a good group. I’m excited to see what they can do.”

Sabres Feel Goaltending is Already Set
Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic: As Fairburn writes the only thing the Buffalo Sabres did not address when free agency opened was goaltending. The belief from general manager Kevyn Adams is that Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Devon Levi, and Eric Comrie will be the trio that guides the Sabres this season.

Think Fairburn needs to go look at the Roster. Think a little more than Goaltending.

This is so dumb if it happens.

Can we at least get 71 off the roster? Or is that too much to ask?

Didn't Gerbe say be patient as KA was going to add a forward, a 4D AND a goaltender?I love Levi, but KA is playing a very dangerous game if the goaltending remains status quo. I still think Hart is in play. I don't think Hellebuyck nor Gibson are options they're considering.
