Yes he valued him enough to extend him long enough to where some of Adams Draft picks should be ready.
- Buff36

That's a good point, Adam's doesnt love him 7 years long for sure.

I still think he likes olofsson, probably why he hasnt excepted a trade offer.

Take olofsson's 28 goals away last year and were not 1 point out of the playoffs IMO.

Have him play with Girgs and Okpsoso. Develop him properly.
- Lunaion

😀
Give olofsson the kreb's treatment.

Its definitely a way to keep contracts down, playing skilled guys with the captains.

Good point about holding cozens back.

I wonder if coach donnie started playing tage a bit with greenway, maybe he juggles the lines a bit?

- Boss34

Eh Greenway is another I'd like to keep away from our top 2 lines till he can show something. But wouldn't be surprised to see some line jiggling. I think Mitts gets 2nd Line duty with Cozens and Peterka.

He's playable and plugable for the 2nd line and some of Quinn's 2nd pp minutes.

Quinn's comparable is most likely olofsson IMO

Plus the bald rink guard is affraid of his own shadow, so he can't make a trade unless he's forced . (Sam, risto, jack trades dont count either)

Bald guy just signed him to a 2 year deal, he values olofsson. Coach might not as much.....

- Boss34

It's absolutely ridiculous to say in the same sentence that KA can't make trades and the Risto/Jack/Sam trades don't count. FOrced trades are often the hardest to make as the other team knows you want to trade the player. KA killed those trades. I still think there's a Hart/Konecny trade out there this offseason, despite Clown hating Hart.

Sorry I was kidding.

Love Adam's, always have.

Hometown good guy with a Stanley cup ring saving our beloved franchise, despite a receding hair line...

Those were impossible trades to win , especially eichel.
Adam's got us tuch, what's not to love.
Admas got us levi for a turd.

Skinner is 31 but he plays a style that wil keep him relevant for a while, Tuck is only 28. That line should be fine fro 3 or 4 more years, but, there's always the Peterka's Savoie's, Kulich's waiting in the wings
- turbo044

Tuch has 3 years left. Skinner 4. Both at the age where decline and injuries are getting more likely.

They do need a few of these prospects to turn into better than just decent middle 6.

Not sure what a bad hairline has to do with being a GM but whatever.

If you want to improve his 2-way game, force him to play some D. Let the leaders lead him. If it works, maybe they have a future in player development. If it doesn't, nightly code reds.

The downer posters point out his hair line and that he was not qualified to run an nhl organization, with his experience at the harbor center getting him the job.

Some posters think they are smarter then KA , but are often wrong and impatient.

Adam's is a great guy, hair or no hair.

I'd play mitts with the captains this season. Especially if he's in the Sabres long term future. Settle his #'s back down.

In regards to skinmer and tuch.

Tuch seems like a lifer. Skinny better take a pay cut to stay after this deal.

So you want to take one of the better playmakers on this team and play him with two guys whose scoring touch is about as good as any of us trying to score on Hasek?

Mitts best skill is his play making ability, if he ends up playing on the Larry Line then this is a full on punt of a season until 2024-25

Way too sooner to talk about a Skinner extension at 35. Who knows what he'll be at that point? No way he'll be a 9m player, that's a given.

Tuch might be a tough one. Big extension at 30 is not a smart play.

Agreed, but he's a buffalo guy, probably be wearing a letter soon enough.

Probably depends on who's in charge? Is KA still the guy handing out paychecks.....

Another poster mentioned it recently, maybe mitts plays wing on the cozens / peterka 2nd line?

My thought initially was olofsson replaces quinn on line 2.

I'm assuming its straight larry with jost at 4C this season., although I loved the KOG line with krebs.

agreed - Tuch still has a ton to prove that last year wasn't an outlier, much like Tage had to prove last year. Tuch exceeded his previous year high in points by 27 points (52% more points than his previous best) and would have been even higher without the broken foot and 8 games missed. I think he can put up similar points given his linemates, but, obviously needs to do it.

And why would you put Mitts there, we already saw Girgensons and Okposo flub passes from Krebs

I still think one of the kids gets a spot with Quinn out

Skinner Tage Tuch
Mitts Cozens JJ
Kid Krebs Greenway

Thing is, we have better goaltending. All 3 guys.

Upl is a year wiser and levi is an upgrade over 42 year old Anderson, who could only play once a week.

Comrie should be a year better too, or at least feel more comfortable in a Sabres system and uniform.

He did have a career high shooting % by a wide margin, so some regression is extremely likely.

Agree with you, it is a big year for him.

UPL's biggest issue is his hockey IQ/Puck tracking ability. If he can't fix that he will end up overseas sooner than later.

You can sell me on Comrie having a bounce back year after his injuries but there is nothing on paper that says the Sabres will have better goaltending than last year even with Levi here.

There is way too much of an unknown

I like Mitts with Cozens, but if you go that route, your 3rd line looks really sketchy to the point where it turns into a 4th line again.

I tend to agree with you. Good lineup.
I guess olofsson could retain that 3lw over a kid?

We all know olofsson scored some empty netters and 28 goals wasnt enough to keep him in the lineup when it counted.

I'm torn on olofsson, could easily go the easy route and do nothing and replace from within. Seems sabrery to not make a trade and keep him. Just an opinion.

That's very fair, although upl still shows some potential.
Management loves potential and not giving up easily on prospects.

I'm head over heels on the phenom levi. I'm taking an optimistic approach.

IMO: He's gonna be the guy , whether he struggles or not. Management doesnt see this as a make or break year.
Playoffs or bust is a hockeybuzz thing.

He plays well, he plays more
He struggles, they play him for the future

This goaltender tandem has escape button written all over it. Easy to explain away the season..... young group..
