Hanifin to Sabres (e3)
Hearing the Flames could move Hanifin to Buffalo "as soon as this weekend." So far I have been unable the return. |

Expiring contract - return wouldn’t be a lot. Jokiharu and maybe a small piece |

They will get much more than that for him as a rental at the deadline when his CAP hit will be a huge bargain for every contender looking to upgrade their D for a playoff run.

All true, plus Hanifan isn't a great fit in Buffalo. He's not taking PP time away from Dahlin or Power and, like those two, is left handed. Another non-well-thought-out guess with zero merit |

Hanafin has played both sides. But if that matters I would imagine Tanev would be a better target & also Markstrom, if he agreed to waive. |

For this to make sense it would have to include an extention with the expectation that Hanifin will be the long-term 2RD. Return would include a roster salary on an expiring deal - Lyubushkin, Jokijarju, Bryson or Olofsson - plus at least one top prospect such as Savoie (don't fret Sabres fans, they have too many small, skilled forward prospects as it is). Likely another B level pick or prospect. |

Dumbest comment. I’ve read in a long time. Tell me you know nothing about hockey without telling me you know nothing about hockey. |

Teams would want a player like him all season if they could get him, he’s a stud D-man. |

This one makes no sense for Buffalo. Their weakness is at Goalie and they already signed 2 D-men in FA. They arent going to just keep stockpiling NHL D, they already have about a doze, |

I think G Jacob Markstrom and possibly RHD Chris Tanev are the targets here. Tanev along with Eric Johnson and Connor Cliffton would really solidify our defense. As far as trade value I think UPL, Henri Jokiharju, Prospect and a 2nd should probably get the job done imo. Markstrom had a down year and is a salary cap dump but an upgrade for us lol. |
