I expect more of the same from Monahan, so a 55-60 points producing pace.
Can he play a whole season without getting injured though? That remains to be seen. |

I expect him to stay healthy, have a good season, and be traded at the tdl for a nice return |

Hains: In Hainsight: What to Expect from Sean Monahan
What should we expect from the soon to be 29-year-old banged up veteran? - Karine Hains
If you want Dach to be your second line center, and stay there most of the season, I think you put Monahan on CC/Suzuki's wing to help push offence, regardless of Dvorak's health status.
Let someone step up and take the 3rd line center slot.
As a side note, I seem to recall Slaff playing his best hockey when Evans was his center, so push up Evans to 3rd C with Slaf and Gallagher.

Newhook sounds like a prime candidate for that role to begin the year.

I think he starts on the wing.
But who knows, I expect some more roster movement before the start of the season.

It's nice to see we have some talented options at least.

I'm curious to see Beck. Bouillon said last spring he's the most NHL ready of the group |

If Dvorak is not ready, I can see them trying out some young kids for a few games to get some experience in, before being sent back down.

Him and Mailloux we're the closest from the NHL in his opinion yes.
Should be a very fun training camp.

Of course someone is going to trade for Petry.
He's still a decent player and we can drop his pricetag allllll thheee wayyyy downnnn to 2.3M.
We're getting something decent for him too.
All while getting rid of Hoffman and already adding a 2nd rounder in the process.

If they can get a 2nd for him, then I am more than happy.
Petry was a steal when we got him and was a very good player in Montreal. He will help another team, but really has no room in Montreal right now.... unless they want to keep him and trade Savard....

Unlikely.
David wants to be here.
Petry (or his wife) doesn't. |

I would not be surprised if they chose to keep Petry over Savard, as unlikely as that may seem.
But one of them will be moved.

I think the return will be better for Petry, because he's a better player.
And again, unless they completely changed their mind in a year, I doubt the Petrys want to stay.
The lack of any noise from Jeff or Kent since the trade pretty much confirms it imo. |

Wouldn't the SJ Sharks have taken Petry in the Karlsson trade then? Instead of inheriting 2 corpses? |

Well Hoffman only has 1 year left on his deal, so maybe they saw it as a shorter commitment.
Guess they believed more in Granlund redeeming himself than in Petry's current value.
Not convinced that was the best decision.
