The Devils are on of many teams talking to Vancouver these days. They will be making some deals in the upcoming days…but so far I believe ONLY NJ have hit on the subject of Quinn Hughes,, |

NJ is paying 9,000,000 for a power play QB and premier offensive D but they're going to acquire another one making 7,850,000 just to unite the Hughes brothers?
There has to be a deeper level of analysis than players always want to go to their hometown or brothers want to play together. |

Ya .... Vancouver will trade Quinn Hughes in return for Jack Hughes.
Why would Vancouver ever make a trade sending Quinn Hughes in the deal unless they were fully stripping it all down to the studs. And this ownership group is not waving that white flag. |

While the math may work…something tells me that pesky “C” and pedigree make that null and void.
Realistically, the deal nets 3 1st’s + Mercer (a 4th 1st) and two serviceable NHL players for a guy whose value has likely peaked in Demko and a guy who beyond the on ice contributions, offers NJ the chance to be the most marketable team in the East once the Sid and Geno show wraps up in 2-3 seasons. The franchise value added would be massive. |

Aside from the superficial family connection, is there any team need for a small puck-moving d-man? Obviously the answer is no. So no sane GM will dramatically shake up the roster of a legit contender just to unite a brother. If NJ was going to make a major move it would be a goalie upgrade like Hellebuyck. Just click bait. |
