A really solid add.
Led the Sabres in blocked shots and hits - One of their best PK'ers also...
So we get bigger and harder to play against on the backend. Get a good PK'er which everyone knows we need and for only 2.75 mil... That is a win.
Pair him with one of the kids. Baby Z or Pavel on the backend and that is a solid 3rd pair.
This means we can park Hagg in the presser for the most part. |

Agreed. I'm excited for the battle on the left side of the defense group and who can win a spot - going to be one of the most interesting storylines heading into camp. |

LaCombe has the early lead... but Baby Z and Pavel should make a large push..
My Ideal pairings would be
Cam & Jamie
Pavel or LaCombe and Gudas
Baby Z and LaBoosh
Hagg and Helleson as 7 & 8

What about Vaak? Is he the man out, I thought he did decent last year when i saw him play.If he is there is probably a market out there to trade him to. |

With salary held you’d get at least a third. So good asset management |

Good God I hate our fans most of the time! I went into a chat room and everyone is female doging about this trade. This is exactly the
type of D-man the Ducks need! You know, a guy who actually plays defense! Who can block a shot and help kill penalties? I like this trade! Well done, GMPV! - duxcup07[/quote
Spot on - we need no offense from him. Just pair him with someone who can handle that end and we are good -
He and Gudas out on the PK makes us instantly better - |

Boosh!!! Nice!!
I liked him when Leafs got him. Not a bad 3rd pair guy, physical. MUCH better than last season for what the Ducks had out there that is for sure. Good for some physicality and blocking shots.
Big knock is sometimes tries to do too much and gets caught out of position looking for the big hit |

Dahlin led the Sabres in blocked shots and Samuelsson led the team in hits actually. Unfortunately he was playing hurt for a lot of the year for the Sabres. If he plays like he did around January on when he was kinda healthy. He should be a solid 3rd pair guy. |
