Hey Bill, August has 31 days - backfire
Yup. Simply, I originally intended to post this to tomorrow's blog and do something today geared toward the next Mondays with Meltzer for Flyers Daily but decided to change the order. Forgot to fix the first sentence. Fixed now. Thanks. |

Thanks as always for your very detailed posts!!
Can I assume the training camp practices are open to the public? I’m hoping to attend one of them with my grandson if they are open. He plays Squirts hockey and I’m sure he would love to see how the pros practice.

Propp was a beauty, not a big man but he could score with his skill and speed. Good old Saskatchewan boy. I think when we won the cup in 1974 the whole team was Canadians? |

Has Ellis ramped up his skating yet? |

Yes, the 1973-74 and 1974-75 Flyers were the final teams to win the Stanley Cup with a roster entirely consisting of Canadian-born players. Note: About a dozen of the players subsequently became American citizens. Oddly enough, even though Joe Watson has officially lived year-round in the USA since 1967, he's never obtained his U.S. citizenship because he's never bothered with the paperwork. Jimmy, however, does have American citizenship. |

I wonder at this point is Ellis even trying to come back?
Or maybe he is just cashing those LTIR checks, and living the easy life. Either way what an awesome trade, not sure how the GM didn't get fired right after the deal was made or at the least once he was put on terminal LTIR.
This Team has had issues holding people responsible for there failed actions in the past. This is one area that needs to improve, owning your role and your mistakes, not just playing the blame game or firing coaches because the GM can't provide them with a balanced team. |

Before we signed staal yes, now no way he plays until an injury or the TDL deals we need to make.
Personally i would like the see Andrae/Grans 3rd pairing from the TDL on and see what they can do together. |

I’m not Bill (obviously) but, unless trades are made, it’s very doubtful.
Sanheim, Risto, York, Seeler and Staal are locks so he’d have to beat out both Walker and Zamula. Plus, he’s waiver exempt and Zamula’s not so he’d really have to significantly outplay both Z and Walker, and possibly Mete too. I just don’t see it happening.
I do hope he plays in LHV though. I think at least 2, if not 3 if the above will be dealt at the deadline so some younger players should get late season looks. |

all accounts are he had a bad year last year. Needs to show a lot before he makes that jump |

I am only sold on Walker being 100% dealt. Walker is a lock to make the top 6 as well.
For such a rebuilding tea, they make it very hard for a prospect.

He will stay on LTIR for the rest of his contract because he will still have health coverage paid for by the NHL.

If he does not make the roster doesn't he have to go back home to play? I believe it was part of the agreement the 2 leagues have. I thought his age dictates it.

yes and think seeler is the 7th where he should be. also, minus andre, not sure another prospect should be starting in the nhl. or that's at least how i read the moves made. maybe by the end of the year if some are traded.

seeler has turned himself into a solid bottom pairing guy. Should have been dealt to make room.

You think it's about health care? How about the 24M dollars he is still owed on the contract? |

Andrae is 21 years old and has already played for the Phantoms on ATO. He is under contract with the Flyers. The Flyers maybe can buy out his Swedish team to let him stay if he doesn't make the Flyers. |

Apparently, HV71 has given the go-ahead to Andrae to play in North America if he's sent to the AHL to start the season. The official HV71 Instagram posted a thank you to Andrae for his service to the organization and best wishes for his new adventure in his career. |
