Is that Mike Comrie you're thinking of? I believe his family is worth a (frank) ton of money.

edit: yep

Two interesting snippets by Larry Brooks in his column:
While Peca will have primary responsibility for the power play (with Phil Housley’s aid), Don Muse will have primary responsibility for the penalty kill and Housley will take charge of the defense and overall team defense, Peter Laviolette will oversee all aspects of the game. The Rangers are going to become a detail-oriented team.

The hard cap acts as a restraint in assembling rosters. But the cap does not apply to off-ice personnel. Under Drury, and with chairman Jim Dolan’s encouragement, the Blueshirts are finally flexing their financial might by beefing up the back of the house.

The scouting staff and player personnel department has been bolstered. The analytical arm of the organization has been strengthened. There is a new skills coach. Prospect-development personnel has been enhanced.

Chytil has the least amount of uncertainty when it comes to kid line.
- tomburton99

Theres no question that he can play hockey, the question is can he play bigger minutes and can he do it against opposing teams best lines/defense. Because hes been shielded to some extent on the kid line, being deployed at very specific moments of the game.

I hope Cammalleri didn't invest that much into it. Because he only made 62 million in his career. (I have no idea about his family. Are they well off?)

These players have to have wealth advisers and whichever ones allowed them to invest in a (frank)ing sports drink in a world where Gatorade exists need to be fired and barred from the profession.

I’m excited about the hires and can only be left to wonder why it took so long to put focus there

Not necessarily. Biosteel is a subsidiary of a larger cannabis company (Canopy Growth) and they filed Biosteel for bankruptcy to cut costs by a projected $95M. Their shares (Canopy's) are actually trading up almost 10% this morning on that news.

https://www.reuters.com/b...biosteel-unit-2023-09-14/

If investors received any sort of Canopy Growth stock as part of their investment they're probably actually pretty happy this morning. I'm sure it depends on the terms of their investment, but this seems more like they're reorganizing debt than them being insolvent.

I can't wait to see articles about the Rangers' fringe players in the rookie camp.

By that notion, he was also a 20+ goal guy on a 3rd line. Look at his production per 60. It is: good.
