Cossa sucks. No need to even mention him in the blog.

I’m trying to figure this one out. It sounded like he ended the ECHL season well and had somewhere around 6 consecutive shutouts. Since camp he just looks out of place even in scrimmages.

Cossa needs a lot of help, something's not right. He was in good shape in TOL, not sure what's broken. Wasn't tracking the puck, lateral movements were way off, slow to react.
Sprong was great. Was all over the ice, bomb shot, quick hands, jumped up to defend....could be a sleeper pick up.
Kasper looked good. Not stellar. Good. Needs to get quicker, good passing, couple of nice forechecks. If he atays in DET to start the season, I won't be surprised. He's going to be good.
Veleno seems to have found another gear. Is he faster than last year? Sure as heck seemed to be getting around much more quickly.
Compher was good on FOW. But not $5+m good.
Maatta kept right on defending, had some really good outlets.
Lyon. Lyon. Lyon. He starts 1B, if I'm LaLonde. Plain & simple.

Now, all of the above is VERY premature. Much can change in the next 6 games. Team looks ok. Let's see what they look lile in PS Game #8....

I think you’re right about Cossa. There are eye specialists goalies can train with. Nothing to do with optometry but gives exercises that reset the brain and refocus (see EMDR). Carey Price used to sit in the empty arena and just do the eye exercises, then bouncing tennis balls off the wall with both right and left hand simultaneously. All that resets left and right side. I personally would recommend guitar or piano. When both hands are doing something different it causes the brain to relax. One guy had brain surgery while playing guitar. With the resources players have he just needs to tap into something and get his mind right. But yes, Lyon and let Cossa develop at the lower level. I really like Sprong’s shot. I love when players can just grip it and rip it like that.
