Do you have proof that Torts did not like the fact that Hayes was well liked in the locker room, and the same with TDA?

Hayes was turning into a defensive liability and was a turn over machine. TDA was horrendous for most of the season.

The team is better off without them.

Who brought TDA in, fletch or torts?

- WhiskeyMan

yes I do. google and past pieces written.

The GM made the trade. Do you think he talked to the coach about it? The coach was all on board with that trade. Go look at at his quotes and what not.

Look at the plyers who were moved and tried to move. They all are players torts dont like.

Hayes, JVR and DeAngelo were well-liked in the room. (It's almost impossible to dislike JVR the person, FWIW).
- bmeltzer

always assumed JVR was well liked as nothing to indicate he wasn't.

Surprised? I am.

I think he's an NHL player. But there are many reasons why a player can go unclaimed. One of the big ones being that teams are still sorting out their own numbers game, so unless they absolutely see an immediate spot in their lineup, they are more likely to pass.

That said, I was very surprised a few ago when Chris Porter was claimed by the Wild and downright shocked when Tampa claimed Danick Martel.

So you never know what can happen. Just takes one scout/team that is keen on the player.

Are we still linked to signing Ethan Bear after his rehab?

With this coaching staff he needs a change of scenery. Can easily see him included in some trade down the line.

Torts and his great development took the play right out of Allison imo

hayes was very much liked in the room. Torts didn't like that and had him removed.

Was torts not on board with the tony d trade? Tony d also well liked in the room.

Not shocked at all Wade cleared. He is a dime a dozen player that every team has their own of similar ilk.

I saw EK, Bill, Therien, threw the kitchen and the sink in for him. They think he was to good to be waived.

He was a solid call up guy, brought some speed to the lineup

I have no problem with Poehling, since he is 24 years old.

Agreed. He is low risk redemption project and young enough to be a part of a legit rebuild.

Catch 22. Allison is at his best playing with reckless abandon but it throttles his availability.

Agreed. But having Frost spend six weeks with Max Willman and Gerry Mayhew as his linemates wasn't ideal.

Actually like the signing, I think Laughton will get dealt at the TDL, think Poehling is a younger, faster version of Laughton, not on his level yet but good 4th liner who can play bottom six when needed.

flyers have almost 10 million in dead cap space. Wonder where that ranks in the NHL

Poor Bear. 🐻 McDavid kicked him out of Edmonton after his playoff blunder.

$5 mill just for Petersen! Has anybody scrutinized that deal? I guess Brière is still on his GM honeymoon.
