I can’t speak for the other two Devils Fans but I’m pretty used to everyone picking the Rangers over us. Pretty much from the day we moved here to last seasons playoff series. Well, we won our first ever game against the Rangers in 1982 and we won last seasons playoff series against them too. And plenty more. So keep picking the Blueskirts. Doesn’t bother us in the least. Kinda funny actually.

Bruins definitely got worse and Columbus definitely got better. But, Blue Jackets passing the Bruins would be at least a 76 point swing. Seems a little extreme.

So Columbus makes the playoffs over Tampa, Ottawa, NYI? The only way I could see that happening is if the following occurs:

1) Columbus somehow acquires Pageau and then flips him to Toronto for Nylander.
2) Logan Thompson demands a trade to Columbus
3) Since they are pretty thin at center, Malkin joins them to become a man.

I'm a Ranger fan and I say a big No to this...Rangers top of the East...I can only hope. It will take them 10 - 20 games to get things rolling with the new coach and system, so that will likely keep them in the Wild Card hunt.

Chicago with back to back televised games to start the year? Can I not see them anymore unless they play the Blues! I know it’s Bedard but it is quite obnoxious that espn loves them so much. I looked on nhl.com for tv schedules. What is the max for under the tv listings? There are too many god damn stations now I can’t keep track of them

If they can keep up without Vasy for the first two months I think they will be fine. I definitely don’t see them as 12 in the east. I would say they should be in the playoffs pretty solidly. Anywhere 3-6

Also...I do believe the Devils to be stronger than everyone in the east not named Hurricanes. Those two teams will most likely be jockeying for 1st in the metro/conference.
