Imagine living in a world where people think Connor McDavid is a better player. Auston Matthews is the most dominant goal scorer in NHL history. There is zero doubt in my mind that at retirement, he will have over 1000 goals. He's on pace to surpass that. - CGYFlames13

On the off-chance you are being serious - I want some of what you are smoking.

Auston Matthews is a better player. I'd pick Matthews every day of the week. |

Debatable. He doesn't kill penalties. McJesus does.

PK has nothing to do with it.
5v5 is a completely different game than special teams. Positionally, pace, flow etc. you can be a great a great pk player and not be good 5v5 defensively.

Not even close. Matthews has a better stick, better positionally, better down low in own zone, better in neutral with tracking pucks and back pressure, strips pucks - just all around a much better defensive centre.
…we are debating it right now so in that sense sure. But Matthews is 100% a better 2way centre. |

Pretty sure he gets 1000 this year. NBD.

Maybe it’s because they both went 1st overall but I always get Auston Powere and Owen Matthews mixed up.

It'll happen long before Philly sniffs another Cup.
Philly : exactly zero elite level players, and it shows.
With Giroux gone, can anyone even name Philly's best player? Can anyone even name one of their starters? It's a roster full of has-beens and never-was'es. Poor Carter (frank)ing Hart. Guy is a decent goalie and is saddled with that parade of fail in front of him. Come back and talk trash when you have something other than butthurt.
Edit : the league should make Philly surrender the rights to Gritty. You losers don't deserve him. - GalacticStone
Comparing your team to the worst managed sports franchise in North America. That's sad. |

You all are pessimists
It's only game 2 he hasn't even warmed up yet
He will go for 200, 175 minimum
We have never seen a player like him before |

Agreed. Ryan Kesler > Wayne Gretzky.
Kesler was way better defensively, all Gretzky could do was put up 200 points per season. |
