no, but that would be the logical thing to do
- fidopro

if they feel that Primeau is ready to be a regular at the NHL level, then yes. and then again, he would need to share the load pretty evenly with Montembeault, because having a young goalie like that as a backup wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

Their defense looks a little suspect too

absolutely, I don't see Monty playing 70 games.
30-50 seems good to me. enough games for both of them.

30 games for Primeau is too low, at that point just send him to the Rocket so he can play.

he wouldn't play much more than 30 games in Laval. Dobes needs to play too.

then they'd probably be closer to a 50/50, unless Primeau has really fallen on the depth chart, which would be surprising considering the habs gave themselves the trouble of keeping 3 goalies for the moment.

He had 1 bad game so far, really... I think they stick with him til Vasilevskiy is back, but their other guy Tomkins, looks iffy.

They know Dobes is 2 or 3 years away from the NHL, at best.

They can keep drafting goalies all they want, they wont be ready right away either.

30 games or so in the NHL for a back up would be fine for me, but that would mean bye bye Allen. Its more about the spot than the return.

I find putting Primeau in that position at this stage in his career would be a bad move, you rarely see younger guys be a backup because it takes experience to be able to play only once in a while and still give decent performances.

TB looks so bad in their own zone. Getting caved in and giving up lots of slot shots

Yeah, they are trying to implement a new system this year... only a matter of time before they go back to the old one.

Besides Hedman and Sergachev, they're relying on Bogosian, Raddysh, Pubix hair, de Haan, fleury, cernack....yikes

The cap eventually comes for everyone, regardless of how you manipulate it... they had had to let a lot of talent go the last 2-3 years.

They are still a good team, especially with Vasilevskiy in net.

yeah, but those (frank)ers still have enough key pieces on their roster to be decent, that team surely won't be crashing down the standings just yet. but hey, if they do I'll definitely be a happy camper...

the salary cap says hello

they are also used to have the best goalie in the league

but they dont have the same depth they used to have, even 2 years ago when they went to the finals

and Pubix hair?

it's still early, there's lots of time left for the captain Marchand experiment to fail miserably.

Solid defence, 2 really good goalies.

They are playing better than I expected, still think they are a playoff team... many people wrote them off this year, but that was not going to happen.

they could miss the playoffs if they dont get their starter back soon enough

this is a good division and thats with Buffalo having a very slow start
