Turned it off after 4-0. I didn't see anything worth mentioning except I still don't know how they came to the conclusion on a good goal for Vatrano's 2nd to make it 3-0.

Agreed. It’s weird that they couldn’t find an angle to show it was in. If they can’t clearly see it in then the call on the ice do no goal should have stood. Weird but didn’t really matter because ersson couldn’t stop a beach ball today.

That was not fun to watch. Ersson looked like he thought the Flyers had a 4:00 start, instead of a 1:00 start. Hopefully the Flyers have a short memory and get ready for Monday's game?
- Thors-Hammer

Ersson didn't make any big stops but the Flyers didn't defend well. They gave up a bunch of point blank high quality scoring chances and Anaheim has some good finishers.

Torts needs to have his team primed and ready to go for these afternoon games. Large failure on his part. And put Frost back in the lineup ya 💩

They didn’t play well but you can’t win when almost every second shot was going in. Goaltending is 50 percent of your team unless it’s bad the. It’s 100 percent.

The Flyers stink in day games. I think JJ said the Flyers have 11 early starts this season?

I think they played well in some aspects and in some they didn't. I can't put the blame on Ersson here. It's not a game where I can say goaltending cost them the game.

Anaheim was credited with 6 high danger chances. Flyer 12. Overall scoring chances, flyers 26, ducks 18.

You know I have been hard on Torts for his decisions of late, but I watched the postgame with him answering questions about Ersson. Maybe it’s controversial, but I think it is best to keep playing Sam as a backup and give him time to adjust.
For years I have been against the idea that the backup has to be an older goalie. This is the first time it really appears that they will give a young goalie this opportunity. It will take a while, but IMO this is time well spent for a rebuilding team.

You know that the game was awful when nobody even bickers or argues for over an hour in here.
We all know that today's game was an abomination.
For once we all agree. Enjoy this moment

Haha I missed the game bc of the early start and had to do yard work, help my parents, etc. Glad I missed it!

Could we just please stop with the 1PM starts!! WTF! Both clunkers this season were with the early starts. Just stop already Buttman! Of course, you aren't going to win many games when your goalie has a .720 save pct. Another WTF! Didn't see the game, but the friggin goalie needs to stop something! Ersson cost the Flyers the game last week against the Stars. He better pick it up or he is going to be riding buses again. Eh what?
- Phillywhiteout

Yes, not a fan of the 1:00 games. This goes back to the Richards/Carter years when they were hungover and we typically didn't show up for the early games.

I don't really remember anyone talking smack about the Ducks. They are a good young team that is well ahead of the Flyers in their rebuild. They handed the Brooooins their only loss of the season in Boston the other night. Ersson sucks!!

Just heard some very bad news. Details are sketchy, but it sounds like a hockey player over in the UK lost his life tonight due to a skate to the neck. Sounds like it was a horrific scene. Apparently he played for the Phantoms at one point. I can't imagine...very sad.

Ersson doesn't suck. He didn't make any big saves but the Flyers gave up too many point blank quality chances and the Ducks pounced on a few rebounds unchecked and they have some good finishers.

It was the type of game where the lack of goaltending made it impossible for them stay in the game. I’m not saying to get rid of ersson but maybe send him down to get some playing time. He looked terrible in that game and came up with zero important saves despite very few shots and scoring chances.

The article I read said he played for the baby Pens for 2 years. Never mentioned that he passed. Did you read that somewhere Philly ?

This inconsistency will happen, especially with young guys like York, Zamula, Brink, Foerester, and Ersson. It goes with the territory. Want to see how the kids respond and hopefully they’ll get the chance to learn and play better and not be buried like Frost has been. Got to love the “No quit” in them though.

The info that he actually played for the Phantoms was on Flyers Nation FB page, so that might not be accurate. Unfortunately the rest is accurate. Always wonder how it doesn't happen more often with the sharpness of those skates. I remember Clint Malarchuck all those years ago almost losing his life the same way. Luckily, he was at the end of the rink where they could get to him quickly. They said that if he was at the other end of the rink he wouldn't have made it.
