I say when Quinn is healthy put him back with Krebs
JJ Krebs Quinn was a really good line for Rochester a couple years back in the playoffs. If you want to keep Krebs you have to find players he meshes with. He wasn't drafted for his goal scoring, it was his playmaking that made him his name. |

That's fine, if you have to keep one. Why Weissbach though? Can't imagine him ever getting a shot here.

krebs has done nothing 5 on 5 and has been replaced by tage, tuch and greenway for pk with girgens and okposo
his path with this club is shrinking by each week

the 4th line guys would be a rousek, weissbach, murray, biro type
not a rosen, savoie, benson type
kisakov is a wild card |

I'd call Weissbach and Biro both small, skilled tweeners, not future 4th line grinders. |

really dont think its a great idea to be trying to compete and having a roster of 16 22 year olds
is a 4th line of rookies what you want when you're trying to get in/are in the playoffs

Why is the 4th line we have now getting us anywhere |
|

dead weight moving forward
clifton
e johnson
conrie
jost
krebs
olofsson
girgens/okposo (only need 1)
18.5 mil in cap space - homiedclown
I think Jost is a good 4C. I know that isn’t saying much. But I like him there |

you can upgrade without using rookies. also girgensons is a very good defensive forward and has been for a while.
jost/girgensons makes up a good 2/3 of a 4th line imo. someone like rousek could slot on that nicely.
but i'm very against just trying to make a 4th line out of rochester players. as overrated as i think experience is, you still need some of it

Girg's is also turning 30 with a lot of miles on him. Game is getting younger, not older. |

That's cool, but don't you have your experience with Tuch Dahlin Tage Mitts Skinner. But I get what you are saying about rookies. |

Tuch is such a good player for this since he can go in all situations, but I’d want my 4th line to be guys who can eat minutes against top lines to free up the players you mention to play against the other teams worse lines.
Prime LOG line would be incredible on this team right now
I guess it’s possible you could get that from young players but seems kind of risky |

Part of taking the next step is getting leadership from the top of your roster, not relying on the bottom. Can no longer afford to overpay the bottom guys.

Yes it's risky, just trying to fit everything that's coming. Sabres have so much that some of these good young players will have to start in your bottom 6, even your bottom 3. Sabres are gonna have to go unconventional or you might as well trade some to get a top 3RD or other needed pieces. |
