I have a theory on why that is.

As more teams are driven by analytics and the development approach, there’s less Milbury/Murray/Yzerman types (guys who are constantly trying to make moves, good or bad) that are willing to potentially “lose” a trade.

I don’t buy that the flat cap has more to do with it than my theory

Basically all the current GM’s think they’re smarter than they are in a lot of instances
