You sure about that?
They were very fortunate to win last night. - kingcong39
no, I'm not sure about that. But I think when you see the flyers on the schedule vs the maple leafs, your mind set as a coach, at game 10 of the season, is a little different.
when I played, and there were bad teams, the coaches would try different things. yes i know i was not an nhl player.

Sabres are trying very hard to find 3 evenly balanced scoring lines. keeping void on the bench is definitely helping but cozens needs his buddy quinn back.
just a hunch, but when you're playing opponents like the flyers, you can afford to be a little more experimental and try new things to see what works. - TheSabresTaco
Biro gets a dirty goal to get the team going at the end of the first period
meathead leaves him on the bench for 18 minutes of the second period and the team plays it's worst period of the year
literally first game on the top line, scores and is benched
lock cozens up long term and plays him between girgens and okposo for the second half of the game
the team is doing ok DESPITE of the man behind the bench
meathead looks more like ralph with each passing game

That's a good point. As an example, Biro got a lot more ice when we were up 4-2, can really start juggling and just try different options. I just don't see it as working yet is all and it's worrying me. Particularly it seems Donny is switching things up before guys really have a chance to develop chemistry. Cozens has played on like every line this year, at the 10 game mark that's probably a little too much experimenting.

I don't think we're smart enough to debate the intricacies of coaching decisions. I mean I would love to hear about some of the choices made about last night's game.
Pains me to say it, because I was really rooting for him to turn it around, but we’re very close to needing to have an earnest conversation about Krebs.
There’s a lot to consider there. His development track was a little weird, and he’s bounced around a lot, but man…

let's not gloss over the fact that Biro was on the ice for a defensive faceoff with the Flyers open net.
Mixed signals to me, you put a guy in that situation but also withhold minutes in the 2nd.
There are some questionable lineup decisions in-game, but he also talked about something like this in the preseason, the Sabres like to change things a lot in-game based on situations.
Yesterday looked bad because it was a bad cumulative effort. Sure chemistry can have an affect but 15 shots on the Flyers isn't a questionable line combination.
You're not going to win many games in this league playing the way they did last night. Philly is an unimpressive team and a shell of their former selves.
Unwilling to move the puck out of the zone. Unwilling to take a hit to make a pass. Doesn't understand the purpose of body checking at this level. Content to squeak out a win against a bad team. UPL was their best player in the ice last night. They need a new coach.
