I really hope some of you defenders are seeing why the players with real value need to be moved. Having tk laughts hart etc is completely useless to this team at this stage and moving forward.

The cams and such are a given to move and coots tired self if possible.

Add cutter and michkov to frost trees York brink etc and you at least have some real hope.

As expected he was rusty to start but got better as the game went along. You can see the skill he has and why he needs to be in the lineup. The best pure playmaker on the team.

yea Frost really came on, Foerster, will he learn to finish at this level or will it take everything he has just to get to the position to score and he doesnt have enough left to finish.

Thatโ€™s the problem with this team being around a .500 club. While itโ€™s entertaining and fun and we should never root for our teams to lose, it turns the entire narrative of this so-called rebuild on its head. This team is not and will not be a Cup contender in the immediate future. While guys like Laughton have value in mentoring young players, as much as it hurts, some of these fan favorites have much more value to the Flyers long term if they can bring in prospects and draft picks.

The 3rd period was one of the best periods of hockey I have seen in a while. To me the skill gap was the reason the Flyers lost. Late in the game when Carolina had a chance to score from the high slot, the puck was off the post and in. When the Flyers had numerous chances from the same area, the puck found its way into the Anderson's pads or chest. When I was playing in my youth, my coach would have what we called post drills 10 minutes at the end of some practices, where you took a bunch of pucks from about 15 feet from the net and you shot for the posts. The idea was to learn how to shoot accurately at the kill areas of the net. Perhaps these Flyers should try it. Just too many missed opportunities for the Flyers last night, and it's a shame because the Flyers skated toe to toe with the Hurricanes and it was really fun to watch.

He did, I'll give him credit. Frost was downright dazzling in the 3rd period. BUT .. if Frost is going to be a viable center in the NHL he has got to improve his FO%. You can practice faceoffs every day, whether you are in the lineup or not. Frost just is not improving in this area.

For the Flyers, Morgan Frost was 6-for-20, Sean Couturier was 6-for-16, Noah Cates was 1-for-9, and Scott Laughton was 2-for-5.

Once again Frost get's held to a higher standard than everyone else. Frost needs to improve but how about Noah Cates? Cates skates on criticism?

The Flyers sucked at faceoffs, pretty much every Flyer that took a faceoff. The team needs to practice them, not just Frost.

I think he gets a break last night...Coots was only 6 for 16...but generally yes, he needs to get better in that department.

He sure was gripping the stick tight in the first yesterday...his body language showed that any mistake was going to be magnified. So glad he settled down and pushed through....as expected.

It was ridiculous to sit a player like Frost for six games in a rebuilding season.

Cates went 1-9 last night. He was way worse than Frost last season (39% vs 46%). He's in the low-40's again so far this season. Why no complaints about his viability as a C?

Like Torts you're holding Frost to some ideal standard and not others.

I wonder what the "accountability" will be for Cates turnover that led to the Canes winning goal.

If that was actually a real thing under Tortorella, Cates and Laughton would swap lines next game.

I'm thinking it's 50/50 that Frost get's benched again because the Flyers lost.

Cates never really had the puck on that play. He fanned on the puck. He had a chance to rim the puck and missed it.

A fire able offense in my opinion. On the GM also.

Career faceoff numbers

Cates - 107 GP, 470 FOW - 716 FOL = 39.6%

Frost - 161 GP, 728 FOW - 844 FOL = 46.3%

I still wonder if DB and Torts are on the same page or if Torts is running the show and DB with his 0 years of NHL front office experience is being a good soldier.

4 out of 5 now. Right back to their old ways. Ristolainen was a game time decision for game 1, here we are 9 games in and heโ€™s in witness protection. Same old poop.

I wonder also. There was zero justification for scratching Frost even for a single game. Doing so screams incompetence. If Briere was onboard, that's a serious problem in my opinion.
