Lilly had lots of family and friends waiting to watch him in Sweden in a few weeks.
The once in a lifetime opportunity is gone now because of a POS player.
I don't doubt Marchand has a heart of gold off ice but I don't care about that if he is a Richard human being on the ice.
Thats like a guy robbing a store but saying its okay thats not who I really am because I have a mask on!
I don't care if the Leafs lose that game, Keefe should have let Reaves unleash on him and beat him the (frank) up. - Santo_44
Agreed, Keefe should have gone after nothing more than a grit fueled finish to the game and not only that, told the rest of the players that if they play like they didn’t care they won’t be hitting the ice much even if it the top end talent. |

Kind of funny that Klingberg was the only guy to remotely do anything to the big nose rat - Santo_44
Like I said last night he won me over a little bit more lol |

It was pretty simple.
Put out Reaves right after but Keefe didn't.

Yes.
Exactly.

Now can we agree that putting out a 36 year old who can't skate but maybe can punch is in no franking way a solution to the current problem? |

He has been fine.
I mean I haven't been thrilled but at 1 year 4M with a minor NTC lots of options there.
Its just frustrating that he is the guy to do something..but I don't doubt Keefe told the guys to let it go and not take a penalty because the PK has been weak so far. Which is a technical decision but it wasn't the time to make that call. |

I’m curious if it was truly his call or if the GM and president have instructions in place for his coaching style. He certainly didn’t look happy but it was top 6 talent put on the ice. |

Leafs response last night was embarrassing. I get criticized for being "too critical". But you (frank)ing tell me something. How can you be a proud fan of that? It's been year after year after year of the same (frank)ing poop. |

I’m kinda hoping that game gets Treliving to tell Shanny it’s time to break up this core |

Given Tre's history and what he's been constantly saying about what he likes in his team this is not the case.
The no response was Keefe, and there is no way to dance around it. I can understand why he made the decision because he is trying to win a hockey game but its pretty proven the new guys get into their game being greasy and with some edge. Its poor on Keefe's part and I am a Keefe guy, wasn't happy with him last night.
Wasn't happy with his post game comments on Bert either. |

I know a guy that got fired after insinuating he might do that.

Great offensively but applying on ice physical dominance not good at all
The core literally looked the other way when their young d man essentially lost the season. That’s anything but great. There’s more to the game beyond talent. |

Teams have had no answer for Willy. He has been dominant and teams can't even be physical with him because he skates circles around him.
Matthews handles physicality well and always has.
This is the best I have seen JT since his first season here, incredible at 33.
Marner has been meh but this happens every October so meh. |

Nylander gets loose pucks in tight better than anyone on this team, far from soft. |

Bertuzzi, Domi, and Reaves should all be in the press box tomorrow.
Brad Marchand (of all players) carelessly breaks Liljegrens ankle, then goes on to be a huge difference maker in the game.
This team makes me puke. Zero pushback. |

They all looked away when the kid on their team was (frank)ed over by the opposition. Not even their talent okay’s that in my eyes. |

Yes. Not putting any of said players out for the remainder of the period.
Totally the players decisions and not the coach. Its not like all 3 players have years of history showing us how they respond to instances like that. |

Never said it was a "solution" to that problem
Just that it was to help mitigate that problem a little once in a while. |

Detergent. Nobody will take liberties with 34 16 91 88. They haven’t yet this year but seasons prior have since game 1. That 36 yr old isn’t the solution to the team being a better built roster but he is the solution to the problem: how do we with such a soft lineup protect our Top Expensive Fancy players from being harassed game after game.
Now Tre needs to figure out how to fix the roster. If you fix the middle 6 it trickles and the 4th isn’t the issue.
Mid 6
Defence
(goaltending…won’t be fixed but put it anyway) |
