Tier 1: Tom Willander and Hunter Brzustewicz
Tier 2: D-Pettersson
Tier 3: Kirill Kudryavtsev
Tier 4: Jacob Truscott, Jett Woo, Cole McWard, and Akito Hirose
There isn’t much to it. The younger you are, the more time you have to reach your potential NHL ceiling. The older you are, the shorter the runway to prove you can be an impact NHL player. Jett Woo is nearing the “is what he is” age, while McWard and Hirose are in their first year of pro hockey but do not have time on their side. McWard turns 23 in June, Hirose turns 25 in April, and Truscott will be 22 when he can be signed out of the NCAA. No spring chickens there, which ranks them lower on the “NHL potential rankings.”

I get that but late bloomers are very unpredictable & don’t fit that mould. Inexact til opportunity arises. I’d wager many players have never realized potential while being mired in up to 90 deep protected lists.
How many have slipped through the cracks due to finite roster sizes? |

I’m old school using the eye test. Smatter in some stats to help explain highs & lows.
What stat explains how the Canucks focus on ops top lines? Their system & hard work has been great to date. Our depth scoring is the difference whilst most teams don’t have as many shooters as us. |

He has been increasingly playing more minutes since. 21:22 last night, 19+ game before... 18+ game before that.
Miller was benched. Does that mean the praises and increased role he's getting are dishonest from the coaches? They are pressing all the right buttons when a player struggles before it gets out of hand. The players are responding well to it.
I'm not Myers fan but he's playing much better of late. - boonerbuck
Me neither, but some of the gross misinformation people were posting as facts got me off the fence. If you ask the people who know me personally, Hronek is more my guy. |

I think the depth scoring explains Myers's +/- |

Yes indeed. It helps he’s playing a simpler game keeping mistakes down. I still cringe every time he goes to his backhand skating to his left painting himself into a corner. |

... as well as goaltending and him keeping it simple which translates to improved play.
We can attribute it to scoring but equally he is not getting scored very often.

This is inaccurate. Going back to Montgomery as coach theyve been a top team, widely considered one you dont want to see in the playoffs cause they can beat anyone. But im looking forward to them playing colorado and carolina and other good teams too. I think they looked good against tampa, Edmonton and Dallas though, this idea they havent seen good competition is just not accurate. - neem55
Canucks have played 3 games against teams that are currently in the playoffs. NHL gifting them a soft start, to help build confidence.

They beat a team thought to be a cup favorite 3 times in a month.
Panthers are technically not a playoff team right now, but were just in the SCF. and they only lost to the Rangers cause refs gifted a win. |

But reality is it’s 3 teams that are in the playoffs right now. Schedule was almost as good as Vegas’s. |

Just turned on the Red Wings - Rangers game and 88 Necas was on the ice for the Red Wings PP. According to the bar on the bottom of the screen.
Pretty sure Martin Necas still plays for Carolina and Daniel Sprong is 88 on the Red Wings.

I share my knowledge equally. There’s enough to go around. But yes, I’ll pop in and see if MsMcDavid has made an appearance, I’m sure he’s just waiting for some unwritten rule to make a comeback appearance. |

Last decade Canucks have been at a disadvantage because of disaster scheduling to start the season. You have to recognize that if you credit their start because of scheduling. It goes both ways but almost never favorable.
