Ek has us lined to Pitts trade. Must be true, Ek is never wrong. |

Sounds like the #Canucks are looking to move Anthony Beauvillier instead of Conor Garland now. Tocchet likes Garland’s game. With Blueger nearing a return and Höglander playing solid, there’s a logjam up front.

This makes more sense. Like him or not Garland gets you PPs. He is a rat and I am happy to see Hogs following his style. |

Garland is a lot harder to move, despite the fact that he's outplaying Beauvillier. Beau is a waste of space out there. |

I mean, when aren't we linked to the Pens. They really don't have anything I would want if I'm honest POJ I guess but he is a lefty so not as big of a need. Hopefully the rumors of looking for RHD is more accurate and Pens are a 3rd trade partner possibly. |

They will trade for the Nylander brother and then sign the other brother when he becomes an UFA this summer.
Seriously though if they move Beau then that clears up cap to bring back Teddy B and some room for a Dman upgrade.

Beauvillier the 2nd most overpaid player on the team. Makes more sense anyways. Garland was 2nd in 5v5 scoring last season. Only Miller ahead of him. He's playing the pest brilliantly right now on top of that. |

I like his game. It might not show up on the scoresheet but I see him drawing penalties and pissing the other team off. Most importantly I see the puck down at the other end of the ice mostly when he is on.

oopsy daisy! He's still one of our better 5v5 players thought, so the point isn't lost.

For what it is worth Jeff Carter is the name that comes up most regularly. |

It actually might be 5v5 points per 60 I heard....
edit: nope but he was next behind Miller |

I really don't know what I heard now... I'm not going to scour stats to figure it out either. Obviously it's far less relevant than I thought.

I could see that or over the past two years per 60 or something.

If Beavillier is the one going, then it's another great move by PA. Even if it's Carter coming back, they save on cap and then pump and dump Carter. |

I don't think Carter is pumpable. They probably waive him and send him down to open the roster spot and bit of cap relief for Blu...

I think it would be only to trade for cap space. I think their main target is cap room for a Dman. I don't think they would use him, but his name is always linked to the Van/Pen rumors.

Exactly. A lead up trade to create room for another move. I still feel it will be Bear coming back and I hope I am wrong.

Garland is being heavily sheltered. 65% O-zone starts. Just started coming around the last couple. Still needs to do more on the scoresheet. Especially if he wants his trade request fulfilled, because nobody is picking up a bottom 6 winger with term at 5 mil.
Beauv is far easier to move because he's cheaper and on an expiring contract. The risk is far less. |
