As the tale spin continues, this team looks to be 5-9-3 at the end of this trip. Face an improving flyers team before Thanksgiving and Sen after Thanksgiving. We could be look at 5-11-3 at the quarter mark of the season with no change insight.
On another note, not use to Shelley's quick turn arounds on these blogs. |

Nikita Zadorov...Could he help the back end? It appears that he could be had for a 3rd round pick.
As for the Flames’ asking price. McKenzie and Goldman suggest a third-round pick as fair compensation given his status as a playoff rental player. They point to the Luke Schenn return at last year’s trade deadline as a comparable.

It's early, but I'd have to say the Canucks retool has been pretty effective thus far. |

I think the Islanders should hold onto as many picks as possible.

Could he help? Maybe
Should the Islanders be spending any more assets, especially on a 3rd pair defenseman? No |

Not that I saw their games, he seemed to show some promise with the Leafs. |

He was pretty hot or cold, if I recall correctly. I think last year ( edit: his last year there obviously) he was on a tear to start the season and then completely collapsed in the latter half.
I think he's a total headcase after watching that Amazon series that followed the Leafs and seeing him cry like a baby after they got eliminated in the first round |

I agree. It’s up to Lane and the players to right the ship. |

He def does.
If you want to go full rebuild, you deal Barzal out west to the highest bidder. Haul should be pretty high, then you go from there. |

If you can improve the team by trading Barzal, I’m all for it and especially if it is a Patty L and Pierre type of trade. |

The fanbase was in a pretty big uproar(understatement) when they traded LaFontaine. I think i was in an even BIGGER uproar when I heard the trade of Turgeon and Malakhov to Montreal for Kirk Muller and Schneider. Fn Maloney. I lost my $#@ that day. |

Patty L wanted out because the team was a mess and Pickett the owner stops caring after the dynasty. All I know is Barzal is the least of the issues.

He is the least of the issues but he is the most tradable player, for many reasons. |

I have an extremely hard time seeing Lou trade him before his partial trade protection kicks in next season. Different story if Barzal wanted out or it was previously discussed, but I don't see Lou as the kind of guy to blindside a player like that. |

Barzal is a zone entry specialist. The rest of his game is average. I would take what I could get for him ASAP. Once the team is buried in the standings as a bottom 5 in the league his value will decrease. Buyout Lee ASAP get rid of clutterbuck and martin whatever it takes and that would be a good start to a rebuild. |

I do not hate Barzal. Again, I am being realistic. This team is not going to win with him. He is not that type of player. Is he exciting to watch, sure...But he is not getting you over the hump.

True it could be. Than it may not be. I was thinking Lindholm because you would gain cap space, his numbers are better than Barzal's, yes you lose two years as Barzal is 26, but you gain some space 4.3 mil in cap space.
You can add a D men and maybe another forward. Or add another strong forward. I also think Lindholm will be cheaper than Barzal to resign. Bottom line it would give Isles flexibility to make additional moves.
I like to bring something to the table when I think change is in order.

The move would help the isles. Player of equal or better talent and cap flexibility to make more moves.

True, but it is not like he is being sent to yotes. The current flames team has players. It might inject life into both clubs. Again, I am looking at gaining a player of equal value and cap flexibility to allow for more moves. That was the thought process.
You could be 100% right about Lou.
