Sportsnet scouting report on top 10 2024 prospects. Not as D top heavy as other lists I have seen. A couple of new forwards on the list. Ryder Ritchie RW at #7 and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, RW at #9.

Was able to see Ryder Ritchie live in Seattle on Tuesday. His offense is very dynamic; in the first minute, he beat the defenseman around the edge (even while falling to one knee and recovering) and scored short side high. He is good on the carry, leading the rush, pretty good passing, and finds the open areas to get his shot off. He also had a steal and breakaway, but the goalie made the stop. He would stay out for long shifts, has no problem staying on for the PP even after a regular shift.

I did notice that, even though it was a fast, heavy game with a lot of hitting, he did not get involved physically at all. Used the stick along the boards, and did not go behind the net on either end. I know the dynamic scorers, especially young ones, may not be too physical, but it's something I would check back on going forward.

His offense is so good that he might be able to make the jump next year, but more probably the year after. Not sure I would use the top 10 pick on him based on this one game, but if he dropped to the second 1st rounder, would be worth taking.

I see why Phillips was/is the odd guy out right now. Other young guys are just better.

Oh that's right i delayed it a little okay i just saw the Hagel one.

Same script, outplayed and unless #98 comes up big and/or the goaltender stands on their head, the Hawks lose. This is why we are likely to see another top pick for another year or two.

He is a rookie, been real good. Doesn’t matter. As long as the Hawks ice one legit top 6 forward, this is going to be what you see most games this year.

My only gripe is when we had a chance at a shorty Point took down Richardinson, no call, then Point scored on the PP. Other than that we mightily struggled with possession again.

Can't wait for those better skaters with a bunch of compete start playing on this team.

As much as you hate it this is the painful part of the rebuild, i hate the losing as well but its part of the process.
