My reply isn't about your comment specifically, but I see the CHGO guys and a few others all happy that Blackhawks prospects are scoring in their respective junior leagues.

And I understand that it is better to have a prospect scoring and making an impact etc... but when I see Lardis putting up pts in juniors...big...deal...the kid is probably 19,he should be putting up pts vs 16/17/18 year olds.
Every team in the NHLhas a few prospects that are 19 and "being productive"

And there are plenty of nhl teams with 19 year old prospects who are not scoring. Which would you prefer?

Sportsnet scouting report on top 10 2024 prospects. Not as D top heavy as other lists I have seen. A couple of new forwards on the list. Ryder Ritchie RW at #7 and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, RW at #9.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...-top-nhl-draft-prospects/

Edit - Wiz has these two at 14 and 15. His reports on these two are promising.

I see why Phillips was/is the odd guy out right now. Other young guys are just better.

Interesting, I must be watching different, seems like kaiser is the one constantly turning over the puck n the D zone

I also, after first read of Bhawks221's post, thought to defend and praise Phillip's start, an it would have come around to some comparable that would involve the "others.'"

I am thinking the Hawk staff wants each kid defender to get to a level beyond shock & awe, and panicked puck play.

With Kaiser (and Vlasic / Korchinski), that he assertive. We see it. And I think if Phillips, they want him to just play to his strengths like the other kids, and want to see a relaxed, "just be a player" version working to get better against the best.

I was flipping between the Erie and Brantford games last night to watch Misiak and Lardis. Misiak looks really good, great balance, strong skating, finishes his checks and a real heads up player. Lardis wasn’t noticeable. But the guy who really stood out was Canadien draft pick and Arber Xhekaj’s brother Brantford’s Florian Xhekaj. Big, strong, smart, a good not great skater who reminds me an awful lot of Tom Wilson. I’d love to see KFC try to make a pitch for him but I’m sure being Arber’s brother and being the unique type of player he is, it will cost Chicago a premium.

Too many NHL level players, be they defensemen, forwards or goaltenders is a nice problem to have.

To my eye the 25 yr old has some skill in his hands, size, skating, 3 zone decent play, sol.id PK guy and like last night showed some IQ to be a part of the bang bang bang goal...

Those entire 2016 2017 classes that Katchouk / McDavid came out of may still be potentially full of later breakout players.

Shall we drop the curtain on the idea guys like Nathan Bastian Joshua Mahura, etc. can now get to be better NHLers?

May not equals of aft class' DeBrincat, Adam Fox etc., but As the draft class' Joseph Woll ascends

You can decide on some category for the likes of

Hronek
Howden
Tage Thompson
P-L Dubois
Jr Kyrou
Kunin.

There are already-apparent draft failures, but when the Nylanders excel to new Cap contract heights, you wonder if 'coyote Keller or Devil's McLeod are Sam Steel's or UFA steals in coming years?

2016 class

2024 class = the year I could take the article above, and I would be replacing the players in that class with the names of 2024 draftees, hmmmmm, the Buzz post word be something like 2032.
