Detroit is a an upcoming team but they're not there yet. They also played last night - and I think a back-to-back after travelling 8 or 9 hours and shifting 6 hours in timezones - that's honestly got to be hard. Raymond and Seider are still the centrepieces of the future with Larkin and DeBrincat in support. They had Lyon in net - because Husso was unavailable - but this Detroit team is 8-6-3 which includes wins over Boston, Pittsburgh, Ottawa, Tampa, the Islanders, Calgary and a couple against Columbus.

In short, they are getting much better. The Leafs were definitely sluggish and not getting the bounces early, but . . .

What a pass by marner as well.

He made that previous no look pass to the slot at least twice earlier in the game and they were bad turnovers. I think Marner is elite but he is overrated by some because of 1 out of ???? time his fancy plays look great.

Not saying you overrate him.... just using your post as a platform for what I was thinking watching that play.
