So there were loads of English/UK down in Varadero and more than a few were rolling their own "fags'as they say. I thought that looks pretty funky and asked trade a few of their rolled ones for canadian ones. Not too bad. Just got my first supplies to start rolling my own. Got the weed filters though instead of cigg filters so not expecting much till I get the right ones. Any else roll their own? It's not a money issue for me but a novelty and attempt to cut back on my intake if it's more effort to have them.

Hes a 4th liner on a new team who was trying to do too much during a time when the leafs were playing like crap. He was misused and had linemates who werent playing so well either.
The leafs being 3-0 without him in the line up means nothing....heck the leafs have a winning record without matthews in the line up.
I just find difficult to judge him on 13 or so games....i mean i wasnt expecting much but ya gotta give him a chance to succeed.
Imo.

- Fakepartofme

If you want to make that argument, fine. Great.

But don't go blowing smoke up my arse telling me that he's been good. He hasn't. He's been franking terrible. I've noticed it. Most of Leafs Nation has noticed it. Keefe has noticed it, and has taken him out of the lineup.

And no, McMann being sent to the Marlies doesn't necessarily mean Reaves is going back in. There's lots of talking heads on the interwebs who feel this is simply getting McMann an extra game = the Marlies are at home tonight - and they can recall him before they head out to Chicago.

Fun fact:

The Toronto Maple Leafs are first in the league in hits at home (by a large margin).

The Toronto Maple Leafs are 26th in the league in hits away.

It's a garbage stat.

Uhhhh

Haven’t the leafs played a bunch of home games

Like every Canadian team to this point

First in hits per 60 minutes at home.

27th in hits per 60 minutes on the road.

Better?

I agree with this entirely.

I never loved him and didn't care that much that the Leafs got him but the level of hate towards him at times sure seems over the top.

Have the Leafs played well in every game Reeves have been bad in? Likely not.

I have a hard time also saying one player is why a team loses most of the time, especially a 4th line winger AND if that is why they lose a game the coach is likely as much to blame for having a 4th liner out at that time of the game as the player screwing up.

Us Leaf fans love to have a whipping boy or 2 at all times though so for some it's Reeves, for some it's *insert player you wish was not a leaf here*. One thing many Leaf fans do is look for opportunities to blame that player or jump all over them the minute they make a mistake and cast aside the good things they do with a 'well that's what he's paid to do" or "Doesn't make up for all the bad things he's done this year".

Please explain why his +/- is much worse than every other linemate he has played with, with much less ice time.

I don't hate Reaves.

I hate that he has nothing to contribute to the team, yet he's sometimes put in the line-up.

Leafs are 3-0 without him.

There was some crazy stat rattling around the internet the other day about how the Leafs are killing it whenever Reaves and Klingberg are off the ice.

I can't understand how you have such loyalty towards a guy who has been a Leaf for 14 games and hasn't done a damn thing.

I don't hate him - but why do you love him in such a blind fashion? What does he contribute to the team?

- Atomic Wedgie

without Reaves in the locker room, Leafs would've been a bottom feeder

Did you guys see the Swedish player who drilled the ref into the boards and broke his arm? Crazy poop going on in these lower tier leagues.

Leafs can go 11/7 if they wanted too.
They don't have to dress Reaves.

I like the way the hockey talk so far this years alternates between Nylander and Reaves. It's a nice rhythm. Once they lose a few games we can get back to Keefe and the goalies for a bit, then back to Nylander, then Reaves.

They could but are unlikely. They’ll be happy to be able to finally start giving Gio games off so he isn’t worn out by the playoffs again.

I haven't decided yet whether I like or hate the blue helmets with white jerseys, but I do know that I will ultimately have a strong opinion on it, and of course berate those who disagree with me.
