Gio has been very good IMO but they need to make sure he has enough gas in the tank come playoffs. The injuries on the back end really have hurt their ability to give him a rest.

Hes a 4th liner on a new team who was trying to do too much during a time when the leafs were playing like crap. He was misused and had linemates who werent playing so well either.
The leafs being 3-0 without him in the line up means nothing....heck the leafs have a winning record without matthews in the line up.
I just find difficult to judge him on 13 or so games....i mean i wasnt expecting much but ya gotta give him a chance to succeed.

I don't know if I've seen this at all, though. He's not been out of position because he's throwing hits - if he were out there wrecking people and running around generating energy while being out of position that would be one thing - but he's not. He's not throwing big hits. Not often. He's not fighting often. He, more often than not, looks gassed and behind the play.

I like what the idea of Reaves brings - but the Reaves that I like played for Vegas before COVID. I want a big guy who will mow guys over along the wall, will his way to the front of the net - with or without the puck - and drag bodies with or to him. That guy creates room for everyone else to do their thing.

This Reaves is hardly a distraction. No one can be bothered with him. He can't catch most guys to deliver a solid hit and his positioning and foot speed are a real problem with making him effective.

Look at that 4th line with a tweener like Bobby McMann playing and look at the same 4th line with Reaves. Kampf has been awful, but Kampf has been much, much better without Reaves there.

I haven't decided yet whether I like or hate the blue helmets with white jerseys, but I do know that I will ultimately have a strong opinion on it, and of course berate those who disagree with me.

Next game liked it and then at some point in the game went back to not liking it.

I wonder why they decided to do it? Just to take one less set of buckets over to Sweden maybe?

Gio is getting league minimum, he’s the best deal in the league, and the only Leaf to land a punch this year. He’s a warrior and the Leafs are lucky to have him.

Leafs signing Kane is like Ohtani signing with the jays.

There is a real shot of it happening, there are just a couple clear amazing options that both players would have to turn down to pick the jays and leafs.

Robertson getting traded is interesting…I just don’t think he goes for UFA’s. Would have to be sign and trades for both at decent contracts.

Glad he could keep it together during the 6 hour plane rides across the country. I feel bad for him, but also he can (frank) off and enjoy his golden parachute that apparently he was so (frank)ing stupid to not take in the past to "bet" on himself.
