Will someone please explain the sprong 13.80 comment? Usually a number swap is a Rolex. Man, I love sprong’s sense of humor! |

That seems like a joke tweet, but who knows? Just talked to someone traveling with the team to NYR, said it sounds like a done deal but hasn’t seen the $ yet |

$.20 in change is what sparked a fight with a Buffalo cabbie when Kane was 19. |

Clearly not from sprong, but that is hilarious. Looks like Kane is ordering a Rolex |

That’s the usual. Although I have seen a Rolex along with a Big Mac as the cost. |

He can get the puck off his twig. Coincidence Raymond’s shot seems to be doing the same thing??? Noticeable difference this year. |

HOLY. CRAP!! I seriously NEVER expected this to happen. I mean, Kane to the Wings just didn't seem correct because (at the time) I didn't think DRW were serious contenders for a deep SCPO run this year. Now, a TON hinges on league approval and barring any last-minute big deals for Kane but just now hearing this has made my day complete. I'm VERY interested to see how he handles complete recovery from resurfacing, odds aren't too much in his favour. But I TRULY hope he does well, especially once he hangs up his skates. Having dealt with innumerable rugby injuries, I can tell ya the old body turns against you......fingers crossed that he does well.
Hearing the below about where to play him:
As for where Kane fits in Detroit’s lineup, one has to assume Lalonde would begin by placing Kane with DeBrincat on the team’s second line, a unit currently centered by J.T. Compher. Doing so would displace Michael Rasmussen, but the 2017 ninth-overall pick’s six points in 20 games is hardly a convincing argument to retain his top-six job over a player like Kane.
Of course, Lalonde could also choose to not immediately go with the DeBrincat/Kane partnership, and instead play Kane on the first line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond, replacing Joe Veleno. |

Still in shock - Jeremy Laura
Dude, IF THIS IS TRUE, and if Kane's hip is "ok" (not "great", not "even better than before the issue", nothing other than "ok"....), this changes the landscape a BIT. I don't think Kane's going to be the panacea to a deep SCPO run. I do think that he's going to draw attention from other players, thus freeing them up to do some damage. BUT.............
We still need a more solid D-Line and a stable G situation. Lyon MIGHT be the guy to stabilize the net. MIGHT.
Also, why would we call up Bergy? There may be another move coming, or Larkin may be more injured than we know. If anything, I'd have THOUGHT Eddy comes up for Walman because we're hurting more on the D-line injury-wise.....
But, to your point: YES, I'm shocked by this.

I think the D line is stabilizing a bit, but wouldn’t mind an upgrade. Ghost played a big role as Walman has been out. The one organizational person I spoke to said it’s “as good as done”. That’s the same exact phrase I was given about Debrincat before it was official. Cap Friendly still says registration pending on the Wings page but the fact that they added that is worth noting. As for goalies, would love to see Husso and Lyon duke it out.
As for Berggren, I agreed and wrote as much. Either Larkin is taking a breather or there may be a deal in the works. I would imagine the 2.75 has some bonuses somewhere but the number is low enough to get Kane onto the team. However, the team may need to at least send a player down to stay at/under 23 on the main roster. No clue what’s going on at this point in terms of the call up. It’s possible Detroit is working on something with NYR and plan on leaving someone in the Big Apple, but that’s not even rumored at this point. |

I wasn't sold on Ghost, but he's doing exceptionally well...now that Walman's out, he's definitely stepped up his game. I think we're close, but do need another solid D-dude.
I'm travelling to Dallas tonight, then Louisville next week, so will be forced to listen to games until I get back. There feel like another move coming w/Bergy being called up. It seems like this might be the time to add those extra assets to really push for the SCPO, but in the same breath I'm not so sure it is. Regardless, I think this team's exceeding expectations but still has a LONG way to go. Gonna keep my eras open for Kane to go final as well as any follow-on moves......this is getting interesting, typical move from The Captain, I reckon!!!!

As I recall, the cab fare issue was a $13.80 fare, Kane gave $14, the cabbie kept the $0.20 and Kane was "displeased" Thus, the toll for Sprong giving up #88 is truly hilarious to me......if I recalled the cab fare issue correctly. Sprong is a riot and his shot should be called "Spartacus" because the heat which it generates melts the ice, Spartacus was known as "The Bringer of Rain"....Sprong's slapper is now "Spartacus".
Love it, bro!!

For what it’s worth, Cap Friendly listing Kane as having come off IR and his tab says he is a Red Wing but main team page says “pending registration”

Bergy Up, Larkin OUT tomorrow....answers that question, methinks.
Per PHR:
With Dylan Larkin out for tomorrow’s game against the New York Rangers, its possible Berggren replaces him in the lineup, albeit not in Larkin’s first-line center spot. |

That’s what I was wondering. We know Larkin has been playing hurt. I’m not certain if they still need to open a spot via IR or player movement to finalize Kane |

Let’s have some theories on line combos without Larkin.
I like the cat/compher/kane line…. Perron/veleno/raymond? Who centers the top line without Larks in this scenario? |
